With the Basement Boogieland fast approaching it felt only right to get the main man: Alan Dixon in for a feature on the mixtape series.

Recently getting regular Radio 1 airplay and being signed to Running Back, Permanent Vacation and Correspondant records, he’s certainly doing something right. 

He has long been a name on the edge of big-time success, marked out by many as one to watch by industry taste-makers uncluding Mixmag, Defected and Traxsource. 

After making a name with his disco edits and soulfuric gospel tracks, he’s made the move into pulsing big-room Italo anthems that are equal parts disco strut and peak-time breakdowns. 

With an established new peak-time synth sound championed by Danny Howard, Annie Mac and Pete Tong naming Alan’s ‘Edge of Forever’ release as their Essential New Tune, Alan is finally breaking through and getting noticed by all the right people. 

If this taster mix he’s provided us with here is anything to go by, he’s going to blow the roof off Kable for the Basement Boogieland on the 20th November. And we cannot wait!

With a brand new release out on House of EFUNK Hazmat Live is really grabbing the attention right now and quite rightly so. For his new release he's taken the Sade’s classic No Ordinary Love, and has completely reimagined the track with his harmonized talk box magic creating something extremely funky including a mix from Charlie from @soulclaprecs.

To celebrate the release Hazmat Live put together a mix for our Selectors series and as you may expect from a man with Detroit running through his veins he has delivered something truly special. The mix is all live improvisation, Hazmat Live explains in the opener where he lists all the synths and machines he is using.

London's @bensunmusic has previously released on Delusions Of Grandeur, King Street, Nite Grooves and Quintessentials. Now he is back with a brand new EP for @razor-n-tape Reserve, following his remix of Kraak & Smaak for the label a few years back. The Distant messenger EP is a wonderfully layered EP which wears it's 90's influences on it's sleeve. Think acid tinged Larry Heard, Chez Damier and early Ron Trent and you are in the right territory. It's house music with class, warmth, depth and edge.

Recently, he has added ‘promoter’ to his portfolio with the advent of his own event series called Supernature, a semi-regular event at The Rochester Hotel in Fitzroy. For this mix, he delivers more of his trademark and infectious sound that is designed to make you come back for more.
