Man on fire, Stephan Hinz, is back again on Second State and this time with an absolutely massive three track EP titled 'Unsentimental'. Like all of Hinz' tunes, his trademark sound is heavily engrained on each cut no matter the direction he decides to go. 

This is undeniably apparent on this EP as he masterfully entwines his signature big room Techno with lush backdrops and hints of classic House creating vast, dynamic club anthems.

The dynamic Berlin duo, better known as The Reason Y, return to Second State with a brand new EP entitled 'Density'. After last years debut, the duo have been working tirelessly to deliver a massive three tracker and they have managed to do just that as well as locking in heavy hitter Nick Curly for a stellar remix to guarantee a monumental record. Opening things up is the title track 'Density' and it certainly delivers the trademark TRY sound with crisp, racing hi-hats and low rumbling bass. As signals of bold sirens resonate through fields of sonic indulgence, the duo commandeer a journey into cosmic spaces. Followed by 'Sunwaves' which is the duo's ballad to the Romanian festival they first played last summer.  Laced with grooving low end and sun drenched atmospherics, 'Sunwaves' is the aural illustration of exactly what you would expect from one of the world's finest festivals where the water meets the dance floor on an exotic Romanian beach. On the flip side, the duo take a step back and drop the heady down-tempo number 'Whisper' where percussive grooves fill the blank silent palette as washes of mischievous pads create the feeling of being lost deep in the jungle while a whispering voice guides the listener towards some vacant hope of finding a native estate. To wrap things up, we turn to the one and only Nick Curly for his twist on ‘Whisper’, and in true Curly fashion he delivers a bomb. Swirling tones are draped over an infectiously loopy groove as surges of white noise grow, constantly taking the levels of energy to new heights while the original vocal is brought to the front to ensure a trippy trek into the grandiose areas of late nights.

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell. 

The new Intec release welcomes Boris who is a Russian born and NYC based DJ whose Techno sound has been in high regard since he first appeared on Dubfires revered SCI+TEC imprint. Since that release Boris has featured on labels including Octopus, Tronic, Terminal M, Suara, Toolroom Trax, Phobiq, and his own Transmit Recordings. Having been a resident at nearly every major club in his home city of New York, including venues like Pacha, Crobar, and Roxy. Boris has also travelled the world playing headline DJ sets everywhere from Womb in Japan to Space in Ibiza. 

Underground starts with the crunch of a heavy kick drum that cuts through the rumble of the rolling bassline. Full throttle and packed with energy, the track has a dark mood and deep atmospherics. Taking its title from the twisted vocal sample, this is dancefloor focused Techno at its best. 

Go Bang is pushed forward by the offbeat stab of the lead pad that lifts the track with its explosive bursts. Textured vocals chopped into looped phrases combine with fast flowing hi-hats to create the tracks fast and furious groove. Intense and relentless, this Techno workout is perfect for peak time DJ plays. 

U Better has a raw sound packed with snare rolls and dramatic synths that are dark and sinister. Building with tension, the track focuses on a series of bass drops where each one is more gripping than the last. Thundering like a freight train, this track is guaranteed to blow the roof off in any Techno club!

 Mid-ocean ridge basalt (Morb) is a tholeiitic basalt commonly erupted only at ocean ridges. It is characteristically low in incompatible elements.

#Plutonit 
A pluton is a body of intrusive igneous rock that is crystallized from magma slowly cooling below the surface of the Earth. "Pluton" usually refers to a distinctive mass of igneous rock, typically several kilometers in dimension, without a tabular shape like those of dikes and sills.

#Gabbro  
Refers to a large group of dark, often phaneritic, mafic intrusive igneous rocks chemically equivalent to basalt. It forms when molten magma is trapped beneath the Earth's surface and slowly cools into a holocrystalline mass.

#Scoria 
Scoria is a highly vesicular, dark colored volcanic rock that may or may not contain crystals (phenocrysts). It is typically dark in color (generally dark brown, black or purplish red), and basaltic or andesitic in composition.

#Phonolith 
The name phonolite comes from the Ancient Greek meaning "sounding stone" because of the metallic sound it produces if an unfractured plate is hit; hence the English name clinkstone.

#Dolomit  
The mineral dolomite crystallizes in the trigonal-rhombohedral system. It forms white, tan, gray, or pink crystals. Dolomite is a double carbonate, having an alternating structural arrangement of calcium and magnesium ions.

#Kaolin 
Kaolinite clay occurs in abundance in soils that have formed from the chemical weathering of rocks in hot, moist climates—for example in tropical rainforest areas.

#Obsidian 
Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock. It is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth.

Shlomi Aber makes his debut on Drumcode Ltd with a piercing four-tracker for the vinyl only offshoot.

Israel’s Shlomi Aber remains of techno’s most consistent artists, with a career stretching back 15 years. The label boss of Be As One, Aber has also had his music released on such imprints as R&S, Figure and Ovum, reinforcing his status as a purveyor of classy yet impactful techno. 

His contribution to Drumcode Ltd puts a fresh take on the classic pounding DC sound of the label’s early years, an era the DJ/producer has long been a fan of. Beginning with ‘Inflict’, the EP lays down its heavy-hitting intentions from the onset, as a persistent muffled vocal build beneath a bed of steely percussion, creating a dark tension-filled atmosphere. ‘Accelerator’ follows, the title track that was quite literally born at Basel’s own techno temple Nordstern this year when Aber crafted it into a stunning cavernous beast, using his 909 and XOXBOX Acid machine. ‘Typeface’ is stripped back and functional, an energy-packed tool for building extended techno journeys. The four-piece is rounded out by the fantastic ‘Rain Storm’, that lowers the intensity, as the six-minute cut introduces a new groovier element to the work and concludes the EP is sharp fashion.
