A sure-fire club hit from the mind behind ‘Beg’ whose previous releases have all seen such significant success that they have earned the Liverpudlian a reputation that is second to none. ‘I See’ is a powerfully emotive cut built around Charli Taft’s beautifully melancholic voice which this talented producer coalesces with warm melodic synths and a creative usage of brass samples accomplishing a delightfully enchanting outcome. Shadow Child provides his own unique spin to the track by fashioning Taft’s vocals around the signature Dirtybird inimitability, in this case an orchestral build up into a thudding lo-fi bassy hook accompanied by his distinctively energetic usage of hats and snare. On the other hand the rendition by The Crooked Man layers various sounds into a complicated brew of wonky and dark elements that exhibits the imaginative creativity of such an experienced and longstanding producer. At the end of every year most labels and publications look back and reflect on what has come before, re-packaging old tracks together or making top ten lists. IÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢m always trying to find some big new records at the end of the year so I can go play something fresh, so IÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢d like to present the DIRTYBRD New Years Special. 

Here are seven new bangers for your holiday DJ sets. The tracks are all new & most of them are by new talents on the label. Fresh faces include veteran German producer David Keno, an all new act called Jaded, Sirus Hood from Paris, My Cat Snoop, Mikey V, Wood Holly & Sage Armstrong.  Of course we have a few guys who have been on the label before, Ardalan, Genghis Clan, and Nick Olivetti.

All the tracks work great in the club which was the main criteria for the compilation, no headphone b-sides here (although we still love those too!). Happy holidays to everyone.

Emerging East London producer Jett first hit the scene with his debut release on Jaymo & Andy George’s Moda Black imprint, with ‘I Know I Want You’. Entering straight in to the Beatport House chart, Jett soon caught the attention from respected DJs across the scene.

Drawing influences from many aspects of House, Techno & Garage, Jett’s sound is incumbent but not exclusive to these styles. His focus is aimed at the dancefloor. Hooky leads, looping vocals and a healthy abundance of low end are defining features of his signature sound.
