Jacme is a well-known uprising talent coming from France. As a producer, he has a forward-thinking sound that speaks louder than words thus he came to us with a beautiful four-part ensemble, called "Across the Lights of Diamantina". 

Do you know that one record that keeps returning to your memory in a sudden and mesmerizing way? That track that mysteriously is connected to you by a particular memory that you had in your life to which you connected the sound around you, smells, or visually remembers of a certain and memorable place or person from your existence?

This EP is all about those feelings, those mystic connections in your head from the tiniest particle of an atom from your body to your whole self as a human being on Mother Earth.

The release is a majestic piece of audio poetry that transcends you to a far far away land and transports you to the Moon and back, all of these melting your expectations as the Sun breeze in a cold but shine day of winter.

Eine denkwürdige Nacht in den Neunzigern – ein Showcase des Kult-Labels Strictly Rhythm im Docks – war der Auslöser für den in Mumbai (damals Bombay) geborenen birkenlauber mit dem Deejaying anzufangen. Angetrieben von Vorbildern wie Armand van Helden, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles & Co., entwickelte sich eine große Liebe zur Housemusic. Dennoch blieb das Deejaying immer ein Hobby.
Die berufliche Karriere als Werbetexter stand im Vordergrund.
Seit 2012 rangiert das Auflegen wieder weiter oben in der Prioritätenliste. Auch der Sound hat sich entwickelt: Heutzutage sind birkenlaubers Sets eine gekonnte Mixtur aus druckvollem Deep House, knarzigem Tech House sowie straightem Techno und reichen von 118 bis 130 BPM.
Mit Remixes für verschiedene Künstler machte birkenlauber das erste Mal als Producer auf sich aufmerksam. Unter dem Projektnamen MOB MOB auf dem britischen Label Kingdom Kome Cuts folgte die erste eigene EP. Weitere Releases erfolgten u.a. auf Audio Safari und Clubland Records. Ende Oktober erscheinen seine neuen Tech-House Releases „Dope“ und „Lullaby“ auf dem Label Amber Recordings.

This week with a special cast of birkenlauber from Hamburg:

A memorable night in the nineties - a showcase by cult label Strictly Rhythm in the Docks - was the catalyst for the de-jaying birkenlauber born in Mumbai (earlier Bombay). Driven by artists like Armand van Helden, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles & Co., a great love for housemusic developed. Nevertheless, deejaying has always been a hobby.
The professional career as a copywriter was in the foreground.
Since 2012, the dj-ying has again been higher up in the list of priorities. The sound has also evolved: these days, birkenlauber's sets are a skilful mixture of punchy deep house, snappy tech house and straight techno ranging from 118 to 130 bpm.
With remixes for different artists, birkenlauber attracted attention for the first time as a producer. The first own EP followed under the project name MOB MOB on the British label Kingdom Kome Cuts. Further releases took place i.a. on Audio Safari and Clubland Records. At the end of October, his new tech-house releases "Dope" and "Lullaby" will be released on the label Amber Recordings.

The second release in Poker Flat’s remix competition, celebrating 20 years of the label. This time, we get three stellar versions of Tim Engelhardt’s First Contact, which has been making waves since it first dropped in March of this year.

First up is the Okayshades Remix, brought to you by Robin Brink from Cape Town, South Africa. Brink’s signature sound is a mix of house, techno and down-tempo, and here he finds an elegant balance between firing up a dancefloor and making a thoughtful, emotional rework.

Next up is the Jacme remix, courtesy of Christophe Robert from Toulouse, France. Jacme started creating his own music in 2001, and has recently been collaborating with the likes of Connaisseur Recordings, AEON, Suah, and Outer Space Oasis. His rework is a classy, synth heavy refix, with a driving, restless vibe.

Next up Maxie König brings her considerable talents to the table with a sublime remix. Hailing from the Rhine-Neckar region, Maxie got her first residency at the age of 18, and had gone on from strength to strength since then. Her rework is a moody, deep version with elegant touches - sure to do the damage on the floor.

The official release features the best 3 mixes while 7 more are exclusively released on Poker Flat's bandcamp page featuring remixes from Mario Bianco from Naples (Italy) who already released an arrway of EPs on labels like roundans, Uncover, Sunclock, Elements, Tom Liar aka Thomas Sever from Leiden (Netherlands) who just released an EP on Songspire, Alex Hövelmann from Cologne (Germany) who has already a string of EPs to his name, most recently on Fenestra and is involved in events and festivals like the Garden Eden Festival in Aachen, Nawed Khan aka Browncoat from Mumbai (India) who already released on Submerge, Click, Od One Out and more, Oliver Quinian aka Mentat from London, UK who already released tracks and remixes with Traum Schallplatten or Amber, Leandro Silva from Luanda (Angola) now living in Portugal who makes his debut as Denker here and already a bunch of EPs including a coop with Mr. V and finally the Miami native producer Kamadev who's latest EP dropped on Mirror Walk.
