Ninja Tune's Counter imprint meets Modeselektor's Monkeytown to release RY X and Frank Wiedemann aka Âme, remixed by Matt “Radio Slave” Edwards and Thomas “Cagedbaby” Gandey (the latter two also now known as Matom for their more Kosmische output), on an 11 minute deep'n'meaningful dark-club epic? It's such a big-name pile-up, it was always going to either be lowest common denominator or highest common factor; thankfully, though, it really has given us the best from all involved. This is one of those magic tunes where you keep thinking nothing's happening, then suddenly you realise it's risen up around you to become all-enveloping, and before you know it you're compelled to take it from the top... and not just once either. This needs a health warning, it's so addictive.

Everyone from Coldplay to LL Cool J, Robert Hood to Lana del Rey has had their say as to what ‘Paradise’ sounds like: now it’s the turn of Secondcity to define what life is like on Clarisse cloud nine. Rowan Harrington’s two previous Clarisse communications had him remixing Mendo’s’ ‘Magic’ and restyling Dario D’Attis & Yvan Genkins’ ‘Afro Call’ last year, while his soaraway smash ‘I Wanna Feel’ emphatically ensured the safety of Ibizan piano house. Now with a Balearic residency under his belt at Sankey’s Tribal Sessions, festival dates overflowing from his dairy and heavyweight backing across the board, it’s safe to say Secondcity isn’t one to be settling for a silver medal position.

The chunky swing of ‘Paradise’, full of new jack dons and denizens of the loverman brand, is classically Clarisse in its mechanical management of the dancefloor. Trained to crisp clubbers’ suntans and priding itself on ploughing through rough, nuggety terrain in opposition to its smooth vocal quips, Secondcity’s kick drums are on a can’t stop-won’t stop mission to put some heavy starch into sharp suits. A two-pronged, one-track mind where flirting meets focussed beats.

Having the word ‘sun’ in their name should help tell you what Solardo are all about on the remix. Appearing on Chase & Status’ More Than Alot and Riva Starr’s Snatch! labels already this year, their idea of ‘Paradise’ is to bubble up an acid boogie giving more spotlight to the original’s suave-talking sugar daddy. The Boiler Room-bigged up duo of Mark Richards and James Elliot sprinkle their Solardo solution with more than a dash of energetic fun, paying dues to the theory that everybody needs a 303 and coming to the crowd as a cool breeze rather than an acid sweat storm.

Drumcode’s youngest rising star, Layton Giordani, exploded on to the scene after his debut album “Where It Begins” back in February, after scoring some of the biggest festivals in Europe this summer, he now returns with an exciting collab titled “Live Again”.

Hot Creations favourite and Paradise resident Patrick Topping is back onboard the seminal imprint with the hotly anticipated, two track release, Be Sharp Say Nowt.

Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.

The prolific Italian producer has been catapulted into the limelight after the runaway success of his past releases, and now Biomorph is born. 

A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.

Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.

Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before ‘Hidden T’ brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.

Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico’s trademark sounds and textures.

All evolution has an ending.

Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a ‘New Dawn’. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

The digital version also features a bonus track; 'A Further Existence'.
