Following on from earlier 2015 releases ‘Yaruba’ EP & the huge track ‘Line of Fire’, ‘Wildest Thing’ is yet another showcase of their incredible talent. The release explores their deeper and techier signature elements that have gained them worldwide recognition & the experimental synth textures are a nod to their depth as electronic music producers.

Wildest Thing

A true artist should constantly progress their sound, modifying and reshaping their style as they absorb their surroundings and take inspiration from the people and the places that shape their day to day life. Their music is often a projection of where they are at currently – an actual and real extension of themselves - so it seems at least odd that we often question and criticise change. Bristol-based producer Troy Gunner is someone who we've followed closely for a while now. His early material exude gifted his brand of dark and percussively influenced techno to boutique labels like Electro Magnetic Fields, Mindset and Voyager while his latest productions, though they do still bear those bass tempered and percussive undertones, are certainly more, as he himself describes "dancefloor focussed". Releases thus far have landed on powerhouse Black Butter Records, Hypercolour's offshoot Losing Suki and, most recently, Mak & Pasteman's Materials imprint. So while a transition is somewhat apparent, we feel it's less of a conscious attempt to cater for more widely acceptable tastes but rather representative of where he feels he's at musically.

So with Troy set to make his awaited debut here in Room One on Friday 11th September, we probed him with a few questions so we could officially introduce him. He's also kindly recorded an exclusive new mix to give us some clarification of his current persuasion and to mark exactly the kind of four four dynamics he'll be gracing our Martin Audio rig with come September.

The Invisible share new track Easy Now - an 808-inflected deep-funk workout - recorded as part of the sessions for their new album, which Floating Points has contributed to amongst other guests. Describing the track Dave Okumu says: “George Clinton once said, "funk is anything you need it to be to save your life". We have always agreed. Serenading the unseen has become easier now.”

Additionally, catch The Invisible (Dave Okumu, Tom Herbert and Leo Taylor) performing as part of the Floating Points live band at the Dimensions Festival Opening Concert broadcast on Boiler Room tonight from 6pm GMT in support of his just announced debut album "Elaenia".

Since their last album - 2012’s Rispah (Ninja Tune) members of the band have been busy recording for, amongst others, Grace Jones, Jessie Ware, Lianne La Havas, Adele, Lana Del Ray, Polar Bear, Petite Noir and In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited.

After joining his fellow label compatriots at our Generator party in Hamburg, the affiliate of Tartelet and Money $ex Records, IMYRMIND provides the goods with his debut EP, Tongo Po.

The release features four tracks ranging from Latin house to techno, to the laidback, wonky jazz sound now inherent of both Tartelet and Money $ex outfits. Our top pick is"Upturn",  first up on the flip-side and a track you'll recognise if you tuned in to the Copenhagen edition of our Where I'm From video-docu series, where we followed Tartelet label head, Emil (aka Muff Deep) around his home turf. Now, here's the track for you to enjoy in full!

IMYRMIND "Upturn" - Boiler Room Debuts

Legends collide in this brand new Perfecto Records release. Paul Oakenfold joins forces with Joyriders and the mighty Ce Ce Peniston (of Finally fame) to create a monster deep house, vocal hit - The DJ Made Me Stay. Following on from the successes of Paul’s recent future house releases, which saw him deliver smooth remixes of You Could Be Happy (featuring Angela McCluskey) and DedRekoning’s Only Child (with the one and only Sophie Ellis-Bextor on vocals) - The DJ Made Me Stay is the first of Paul’s original tracks in this vibe and it looks set to be a firm favourite with house DJs the world over for the remainder of 2015. 

Cool house interpretations come in the form of mixes from super talented Layout (watch out for a huge original coming from him in early 2016) and Who Else – while Mia Dahli provides a truly energetic trance take.

Graphium follows the futuristic and tasteful line of Electronic Music. Sinister and dark voices for a devastating effect on the dancefloor. Me My Molly shows Pete’s more elegant stuff. He goes a bit deeper with sensual melodies but for sure also a great pick of the night. But, as Pete says, let the music speak by itself.

CONCEPT. is the new baby established by the already international well known artist agency My Favourite Freaks, which consists of a four part and monthly released series starting in December 2015. All tracks will be out on vinyl and only for real and freaky club boyz and party girlz. International celebrated artists of the agency collaborated to create such a big collector’s item.

Last but not least it’s time to finish the CONCEPT. series with the fourth vinyl release and again with big names of the music producer scene.

Rhadow creates the first track of the A side. Belong is the name of the tune, which starts with deep sounding kick drums and a deep, groovy bass line. The track is like a DJ tool and with the vocal phrases it tries to drill into your brain. Rhadow made a huge arrangement for a more techno driven house track.

Arjun Vagale isn’t a no-name at the techno scene anymore and he is well known for his surprising and always working music, he is creating in his studio and en route from gig to gig. Just as he has done Patterns. Instrument sample loops and fast beats, mixed with sample cuts and a lot of effects, build up to the climax, until the track explodes for the listeners on the dance floor.

Now it gets more techno driven. It’s Ramiro Lopez’ turn. Mystical synthesizer leads, bass lines and vocal cuts with delay effects are being hammered into your head with his booming kick drum. Hihats are forming the main groove of the track. Head banging is always welcome when listening to Ramiro Lopez Paradise!

With the last title of the Vinyl named Herd, it goes darker. The track made by Rafa Barrios has got a huge hihat and percussion overhead groove sitting over a pumping kick and bass line, running until the quite break down. A build up evolves, until… OH YES! Hands up and keep on dancing!
