As house music in 2017 continues to mutate, fracture, and spread across the globe, Russia remains a hotbed of simultaneous innovation and reverence. Based in Moscow, Alexander @Lay-Far represents a growing faction of producers and DJs tapping into the wealth of dance music connecting dots from jazz, dub, funk, and everything in between from, quite literally, around the world. A&Ring the newest release from @in-beat-ween-music, Lay-Far brings together geographically disparate, yet sonically coherent artists to create "Footwork House Jams 1". Footwork House Jams started in 2010 as a small late night community, influenced by sound and visual aesthetics of 90’s house parties in New York and Chicago. Upon a first rinse, there's no question Lay-Far nailed the local party feel filled with loose and seemingly off-the-cuff rhythms.

Bolting Bits premiere, « That DUB (Tape Mix) », comes from @intr0beatz featuring Lay-Far himself. The track wriggles and shakes as it builds steadily, utilizing sour organ chords akin to those championed so heavily from the rubble of dubstep. Right as the rocket that is « That DUB » seems to break through the atmosphere, it takes a nosedive into the Mariana Trench—the high-end cuts out abruptly, leaving only the most warehouse-ready pulses and tightly cut vocals that ripple through water.

PREMIERE : Intr0beatz Feat. Lay-Far - That DUB

@storyaboutyou2017 is a new label based in Bielefeld, a north-western German city infamous for being a myth constructed and kept alive by the Illuminati. Or so some jokers/conspiracy theorists would have you believe. Of course the city is very real, as is the label, who are too real to play the PR game for now. Out next month, their third release features a variety of artists, separated by geography but united under the banner of deep house.

Our pick is a track by young producer and label co-founder @interstate98, who's previously released on the Danish imprint Waxtefacts. Built around a backdrop of syrupy synths, 'Sweetest Pain' is a soulful, old-skool stomper featuring the dreamy vocals of Australian singer Quails.

South London based music heads Chris and Chris, AKA FYI Chris are back with a release on Toy Tonics. FYI Chris were cemented into the forefront of the Peckham music scene following a release on Rhythm Section and their work at local record store Rye Wax. The  talented duo manages the record store giving them an opportunity to share their eclectic music taste with everyone that visits.It’s one of those shops where you pick up a record and they suggest another. Before you know it you have a bag full sounds you had never heard before, but are not sure how you could have possibly lived without.

Today we premiere the third track of the EP titled Flat Psych.The track is driven by the rhythmic pattern of the cymbals, ticking hi-hats and swinging percussion. A vocal harmony that has been chopped and sliced brings the feel good vibes.  In a mix this one is perfect when you want to refresh a dance floor add some percussion and bring some positive energy. Felipe Gordon from Bogota is one of THE names right now in the jazz infected house & broken beat scene that is growing so much these days. This is his 2nd EP on Toy Tonics and its a step forward for him musically: he started to include more vocals and worked with colombian vocalist Paula Pedraza. Gordon’s music is special: with his background as a colombian (with that great heritage of musicianship that the country has) and as a indie rock musician (he used to play in bands for years) - he has a very own vibe. His tracks have much more groove than lot of the sample based stuff you get to hear currently.. and his production style is more variable and musically interesting than lots of other stuff outside. Check these 4 new tracks. Especially the 2nd tool, wich adds some freshness to the current disco vibe: Binging in a punkfunk bassline that could have been made in 2005 from Disco-Not-Disco artists like Chicken Lips, Headman or Playgroup. This is Post - 90ies - Revival music :)
