Friendless - Into The Blue (Jack Love Remix)

Following on from his debut self-titled album, Danish House extraordinaire Noir provides us with the record’s second single, ‘Let It Go’, featuring vocals from Caitlin. The single features a remix from Stuttgart’s Johannes Brecht, and two new versions from Noir himself, in the form of a ‘Raw Club Cut’ and a thumping Techno remix.  The Raw Club Cut gets down to business with Caitlin’s fervent vocal sitting on top of the hypnotic, stabbing lead line that keeps the rhythm flowing through the entirety of the track. Pulsing pads continue to build emotion that build to the song’s conclusion.   Johannes Brecht follows a different direction with a chilled beach jam, eminating a laid back bassline, chugging percussion and down tempo piano chords, topped by a warm pitched down vocal line.   The single is concluded by Noir’s ‘Long Gone’ Techno remix, an intelligent piece with attitude. Mechanical synth lines go up against the vocals, now chopped and twisted to reflect the vibe, all above the pounding kick drum.

We don’t need to introduce the Mexican producer based in London, we just tell you, that the sun is back with these sounds coming up in April. "Phobik" is mystic and wide open - a real summer track without redunant parts. You’ll simply get lost during the break and you’ll need a deep breath after it. Be prepared, "Botox" isn’t that circumspect. It is minimalistic and straight in the beginning but after a few seconds you are back in the good old times of Techno. Less light, more night. The track reminds you of a video game sound, quick and metallic. When it stops, we have "A Long Story Short" with a bleeping start and a warm melody combined with techy synths and a dark backdrop. It’s like a chemical reaction - not easy to get out of your mind and your body. So, that is what we call magic - simply infecting.

After releases by Phase &amp; Xhin, which left the techno scene with a pair of extra holes, Token now introduces its third release for 2012.
We introduce a new name: Ctrls, from Copenhagen, Denmark.
A new name, but not a new artist. Troels B-Knudsen is an ex drum &amp; bass head and earned his producer stripes throughout the years. He slowly made his transition to techno and last year him &amp; long time friend Lasse Buhl formed Northern Structures. To great acclaim, they released their first 2 EP's on Adam X's legendary Sonic Groove label.

2012 sees the start of a new chapter, his solo project: Ctrls.
His debut for Token is called 'Interface EP' and holds 3 powerful pieces in Ctrls' own style: hard edged, stripped down, metallic sounds, detailed drum programming and a mean low end.

With this first EP and a follow up in the works, we're excited to add Ctrls to the Token roster.
