Luke Slater is back as Planetary Assault Systems with another iconic EP titled ‘Devotion’. As a trailblazer in techno with anticipation ahead of every release, Slater appoints complementary scene Truncate and Barker for the remixes.

‘Devotion’ opens the EP with what can only be described as raw drum machine psychosis. Slater whips up multiple, classic tom-based 909 sequences with impact - he keeps things straight to the point before introducing the defining vocal sample. Truncate remixes the track by stripping it down to its bare essentials and emphasizing the rumbling kicks. He also gives the track his own flare of groove elements that build stylistic progression throughout the track.

Arriving as the first release of the new sublabel series FIGURE JAMS, this split EP by Fabrizio Lapiana and Amotik serves not only as a crafty cut in its own right but also showcases a particular type of package, which we will be facilitating from now on.

The A-side is taken up by a pair of Lapiana‘s irresistably dense grooves that unmistakebly tread in the footsteps of his homeland‘s highly emotional techno, unafraid of big melodies but also injecting just the right amount of twisted acid to set the floor ablaze.

This sense of grandeur and space is also reflected in the work of fast-rising producer Amotik. Painting with his very own colours as an equally epic scenery, its bleak and post-apocalyptic landscape dominated by broken industrial beats and hypnotically swirling synths.

Eitan Reiter is a bit of a musical stalwart, with his releases gracing Traum, Minus, Enemy, Praxxis, Plattenbank, and Sprout, and also collaborating with Sebastian Mullaert of Minilogue fame on an album released on Mule, his musical diversity ranges from techno to chill out, and many shades in-between.

'Boarding' is a trippy wobbly bassed techno journey, a little different to recent Lost & Found releases, yet shining a fresh light of coolness to this always impressive imprint. Its relentlessness and simplicity of the track are its strong points, as this monster just keeps on going, undulating, and playing with your mind constantly. This is just one of those dirty tracks that will send a crowd completely wild, without ever differentiating away from the tracks groove.

The lovable German Timo Maas steps up on remix duty, and add some trippy elements and some hypnotic percussion, with the bassline remaining restrained, before it ebbs and flows, as the track meanders along its mind melting adventure. Things intensify as this club melting rework really comes in to its own. 

That riff.. it will stick in your head, trust us!
