Listeners with their ear to the ground know Billy Kenny & Wongo are formidable in their own rights. Combining strengths for the 2016 debut release on Southern California’s Perfect Driver imprint officially defines them as an in-suppressible production duo with ‘Buzzsaw’

Hitting play triggers the ‘Buzzsaw’ commencement of evolving introspective pads & delicate vocal bits. This peacefulness doesn’t last long as a sinister break pre-warns unsuspecting listeners with what’s soon to come. With funky percussion throughout, strategically filtered waves of growling bass grow with intensity, capping to the aggressive lead which can only be described as, you guessed it, a Buzzsaw. Good versus evil, light versus dark, right vs wrong, one could characterize this masterly-crafted collaboration many ways. What’s clear to all is that the record is meant to keep dance floors on their toes and it delivers in that respect. Perfectly.

Founder and lead A&R Matthew Anthony is known for doing a little bit of everything behind the scenes at Perfect Driver Music. When asked about the addition of Billy Kenny & Wongo to the roster, he shook his head, smiling sincerely remarking, “I’m honored to have them on board.” Well said and the rest of our crew agrees. 2016 promises to be a year for the books.

Up Town is a bouncy jam of snaps, crackles and pops laced with a deep shaking bassline. The clean percussion is really where Up Town shines as it creates an energetic groove and fun energy.

The flip we have Do it, which is the perfect bside. Its got grunt and its a touch darker. His chops and wobs really shine in this one.
