Based in Kyiv, Ukraine, ZHGRV is a devoted vinyl collector who weaves warm, textured mixes exclusively from records in his archive.

A resident of Kyiv’s top clubs and a regular at leading Ukrainian festivals such as Podilsky Shuk, Kyivness, and Kurazh.

He also curates the beloved “Dolce Sunday” Italo nights at Gram club.

Scattering for many years between different underground music genres, this frequency collided with the techno soundscape in 2016, creating an outburst of energy.
After he took the Belgian MUSICASA producer’s education, as a first step to pursuing his dream, he quickly released EP's and remixes on melodic techno labels such as SMR Underground, Melodia Records, Tanzgemeinschaft, and Papaya music.

After releasing and performing on various stages, and through the process of producing and self-awareness, he felt the melodic techno genre wasn’t the perfect reflection of what inspired and drove him.

In 2022 he had a change of heart as he started focusing more on
underground hypnotic, atmospheric and ambient techno, reaching for that inner spirit and dynamic balance. This resulted in releases on some of the biggest labels in the hypnotic scene like DORIAN, The Gods Planet, BAHN, Khoros, Informa, Space Textures, Arcadia,... with many more on the way.

Berlin’s live-electronic visionaries GHEIST join forces with Ukraine’s melodic house prodigy 8Kays for Flowers & Guns, a collaboration that blurs the lines between indie dance and progressive house. Following GHEIST’s Searching Places EP, which drew acclaim for its original tracks and remixes from Mark Hoffen, Oliver Koletzki, and Unfazed, this partnership marks a new chapter of artistic synergy.

"This track is the most special one for me so far," shares 8Kays. "It was born from hearing a spectacular and profound idea from GHEIST, which immediately inspired me to start working on it, incorporating a live piano performance and the arrangement I wanted to embrace with the sound I produced. Later, GHEIST shaped the project into the final version we hear today: a tender and emotionally deep piece of music that I am truly grateful to be part of."

Flowers & Guns merges GHEIST’s textured, dramaturgically rich electronic approach with 8Kays’ signature melodic depth and eloborate arrangements, weaving shimmering synths, rounded basslines, and live piano into a soundscape both expansive and intimate. Each artist’s hallmark - GHEIST’s cinematic layering and tension-driven structures, and 8Kays’ emotive, harmonically adventurous touch, interlocks seamlessly, creating a track where every rhythm, chord, and crescendo feels deliberate and deeply expressive.

Lyrically, the song is both bold and poetic, with lines like “Hand me a bullet / I bring you flowers and the sun” blending raw intensity with vivid imagery. The result is a track that captivates both the dancefloor and reflective listening sessions, equally at home in euphoric club moments, late-summer farewells, or personal playlists that demand emotional depth.

With Flowers & Guns, GHEIST and 8Kays demonstrate how collaboration can transform individual vision into something greater: an electronic anthem that is as heartfelt as it is electrifying.

Premiere: Shinedoe - Alkebulan [MTM Records]

This week’s In The Basement features a live recording of Paul Inflyte’s set from
last weekend’s Sasha & Digweed aftershow in Belfast. Having supported the
duo many times over the years — from Shine and the Ulster Hall to Custom
House Square, Paul returned to headline the afters in Room Two at the
Telegraph Building for Shine.

This is the final hour of his set: deep, rolling house and hypnotic techno
capturing the energy and atmosphere of an unforgettable night in the city.

K. Torpela is a DJ based in Kouvola, Finland, navigating in darker, mutated disco-esque soundscapes. Over the years, he has developed a distinctive and multifaceted signature sound of his own, a retro futuristic soundsphere where different timelines collide. Drawing influence from Italo-Disco, New Beat, EBM and Synthwave; fitted into a contemporary Dark Disco framework.

Sound of distant synths and pulsating bass waves echoing through the dark, his sets are both haunting and captivating. Mysterious, atmospheric and drenched in 80's nostalgia. Like a fever dream under neon lights.
