Reflections presents the fourth instalment of their various artists EP series with 'Reflections 04', embracing a new wave of ambient and downtempo talent to the Anjuna family roster.

Featuring four original compositions, the EP opens with 'Dancing Ego', an ethereal piano-led composition from classically trained Russian pianist and producer Omfeel. Followed by returning artist Igor Garanin, who presents his latest production 'Under The Weather'. Having featured on Anjunadeep's Reflections Vol. 02 EP, Manchester and Netherlands based duo Tryst join the Reflections roster with a lo-fi trip-hop inspired production 'Obrigado Por Tudo'. Rounding off the EP, British producer Sleep Surgeon returns to the label with another atmospheric electronic cut with 'Waiting'.

DJ and producer Luke Hess has been at the forefront of raw underground Techno for over a decade now, releasing via the likes of Omar S’ FXHE, Kontra Musik, Minimood and of course Echocord where he returns to here. ‘Emerald’ takes the lead on the package and sees Hess deliver a typically intricate composition fusing robust rhythms and lumpy bass tones with cascading dub stabs and ethereal atmospherics before ‘Lumen’ follows, tipping the focus over to dynamic, echoing chord sequences, direct raw percussion and earth shattering low end hits. ‘Myriads’ then rounds out the package with a more stripped-back aesthetic, laid out over seven minutes with crunchy drums and a stuttering arpeggio style synth lead which subtly ebbs and flows throughout minute structural changes to create yet another smooth and understated composition from Hess.

Dreams of Brighter Days

This coat is one of the highlights of the Tinne collection of clothing at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.

This coat is typica the type that Emily Tinne wore when she was first married. The wide sleeves softly-pleated at the shoulders and the roomy, swing back were designed to fit over the full-skirted, Edwardian dresses of the time. 

The style is quite simple, but the cream colour and herringbone weave of the woollen cloth give a luxurious look and feel.  The decoration at the neckline and the cuffs enhance the coat’s appeal and this attention to detail is continued on the back. Applied silk braid trim was a very popular decoration at the time and it is used very effectively here.  It gives the impression of the ornamental braid of military dress uniforms. The military look was to recur again and again on the catwalk, throughout the 20th century and in popular fashion trends right up to the present day.
