“All Blues”, a reinterpretation/cover of Miles Davis by MONODUKE & I.

Dashgo asked us to make a track for an amazing official Miles Davis tribute project about a year ago and I’m honored to be a part. I immediately knew I wanted to collaborate with MONODUKE on this one. The full album is coming early 2023 👀

We chose to use “All Blues” as a blueprint / inspiration, because it is one of the most prolific jazz compositions of all time. Its the testimony of nothing less then Miles’ innovative spirit in full force. Merging the roots of jazz and blues with modern impressionist sounds from the 20th century. 

Miles teaches us so much. To always stay fresh and remain open to everything new. 
He is the blueprint for creative bandleadership letting all his bandmembers shine at their full potential.

At first it felt like sacrilege to touch upon a composition this prolific but while creating this track together we tried to keep it very simple and it felt right for both of us.

More than 6 years ago, I discovered the youtube channel ‚‘‘STEEZYASFUCK‘‘. That blew my mind!
At that time I was still more or less trying out the music and looking for my direction.
But this find had a big impact on the further path of my music.

On this channel I found artists like @ak_four_twenty , @deva.loop , @klimbeats , @emapea.music , @flofilz and many more who became role models for me and shaped me and my sound alongside the American legends of the golden era of hip hop. Even then I dreamed of being up there with my music. But I quickly realized that I hadn’t reached the point where I was at a level that would allow me to play along.
But exactly such things motivate and inspire me all the more.
So I worked and worked on myself and my music.

And then, in September 2021, I actually had my first touches with @stzzyasfvck , through a single collaboration with @klimbeats , released through my fam @ninetofivetribe and steezyasfuck. Because for a few years, steezyasfuck has also acted as a label. I realized that I had gotten a little closer to the whole thing.
In December 2022 steezyasfuck released another collaboration with me and @n.kmusic .
Even that wasn’t quite enough for me! I really wanted my own release.

So, after more than 6 years, I took the initiative and wrote a message.
And yes, as you can see, a positive response came back.
Working with Steezy on this project was a great experience. @opas.designs was brought on board for the cover, which was wonderfully implemented❤️

Now we are here. A wonderful summer project that combines 5 songs into one atmospheric EP.

For some it might just be another release on some label out there. But for me a dream comes true. A wonderful step on my journey and a goal that I have reached after many years.

Today I have the honor of sharing the beautiful collaboration between the in-house member ØDYSSEE and the very talented producer Mama Aiuto. During the years we have been covering a lot of great tracks that ØDYSSEE has made on the catalogue with beatmakers around the world and I am always stunned how he adapts and smoothly produce beats in various styles and atmospheres ─ This time we’re seeing Mama Aituo appear together with him and it is just the perfect blend and their styles go hand in hand so well.

Looking into Mama Aiuto‘s previous catalogue there is just this perfect organic groove in rhythm and approach.
