SH003: All My Friends

UK nu-disco projects Cuz Electric (Rich Hall, Megan Jones) and Slync (Ian Stanford) make up Paper Street Soul.  Using live bass, guitar and saxophone, and pairing with electronic beats and supersonic synthesis, this group draw upon influences including disco, boogie, funk, soul, jazz, house and combing in their years of experience to create their unique sound. 

Their breakout EP on Citizens of Vice label, 'Saurischian Dancers' drew critical acclaim with a premier from Mixmag, Music is 4 Lovers and Gazzz696, additionally attracting a review from DJ Mag.

The release received Support from DJs such as Art of Tones, Fouk, The Black Madonna, Hifi Sean, The Revenge, Robert Owens and Bill Brewster.

The success of the release drew enough attention to attract a remix package securing remixes from some amazing talent, namely Sophie Lloyd, Simon Mills and Andy Buchan.

Their follow up EP “Berrocas and Trackie Bottoms”, which was released this week on Sprechen, features 3 more original productions and remixes from Chris Massey and Hard Ton.

Expect to see them on a Mancunian dancefloor on the other side of lockdown.

Originally from Leeds, a brief affair with Manchester, Kim moved out to the rural queer uptopia that is Hebden Bridge and Todmorden; taking the word resident literally and moving into infamous Golden Lion where she was their live-in DJ. 

Living between Leeds and Manchester playing at various venues like; The Refuge, Partisan, Hidden, playing at nights like Electric Chair and Love Muscle. With releases on Razor N Tape, Nurvous, Deep & Disco, Mute, and most recently on classic Italo label High Fashion Music, Soccio has emerged as one of LA's finest imported talents both as crate digger and producer. 2018 and 2019 have been busy years as a DJ, supporting Moon Boots, Roy Davis Jr., Jacques Renault, Alex From Tokyo, and Yuksek meanwhile continuing a residency in Hollywood called Pleasure of Love. With Pleasure of Love, a weekly deep disco and international funk exploration, Soccio has hosted the likes of Tom Noble (Superior Elevation), Turbotito (Poolside/Tito Records), Martín Miguel (Better Listen Records label head), Trujillo (True Class/Berlin), Aaron Dae & Jkriv (Razor N Tape label), Air Zaire, Club Tularosa (Man Power), Moon Boots (Anjuna Deep), Dobao (High Life/Buenos Aires), Daniel T (Heat-Wave, Let's Play House), Cooper Saver (Far Away parties), DJ Duckcomb (Cultures of Soul), and many others.
