From the shadows of Newcastle’s club circuit to the shelves of Hooversound’s vinyl catalogue, Nectax has steadily carved out a distinct lane in the UK’s bass music underground.

Whether shelling clubs with dubwise jungle pressure, sculpting cybernetic breakbeats, or collaborating with close friends through STEREO 45, Ollie’s approach is rooted in history, community, and a genuine love for the craft.

Fresh off a guest mix for Adrenaline and a standout new EP, Raytracer, we caught up with Nectax to talk foundations, friendship, and the funny ways tunes get named — plus a few hints at what’s to come from his forthcoming debut album.

Simon Hafner’s aka Sun People’s output has been widely regarded for its inimitable takes on jungle and footwork, fascinatingly hybridised with a wide variety of styles like juke, techno, electro, minimal and dub. His deft beat programming, boundless energy and remarkable productive spontaneity has sparked a celebrated discography, with noted releases on dBridge’s Exit Records, Defrostatica, Rua Sound, Outlines sub-label Guides, an EP for Steffi’s & Virginia’s Candy Mountain imprint and much more. To further expand his musical sphere he found a new label called All Things Records that will focus on his own works and collaborative projects with like-minded musicians.

Battle of the Planets is a covert collaboration between Drum & Bass greats — pioneers, disruptors, and underground legends from across the globe. Each joins the saga under a cryptic three-letter alias. No credits. No shoutouts. Just coded transmissions.

The base crew of the Astro Drifter includes ZNO, XNX, GSM, RNR, UQN, QPH, KLA & KLA, and the mechanical wolf pilots KRA & PHB. But the universe is expanding. More aliases are surfacing. More legends are stepping into character.

Every drop is a sonic clue. Every release is a chance to decode the myth. You’ve heard them before — now hear them reborn.
