This meeting of production talent results in four tracks packed with funk and drive - each one packing serious bass modulation and exploring new depths, as the pair combine styles to form this unique sound.

Wreckless returns to Dispatch Limited for this deeply personal EP reflecting a period of intense change in his life. At the time many of these tracks were written he had reached a real turning point in his life, turning to music production to help handle grief but also mark the transition from working full time into professional music production.

With the EP title reflecting this leap of faith, the tracks are also representative of the emotions he felt during this time. ‘C# blues’ is an Emu bass workout, mainly anger and frustration. ‘Programs without Purpose’ is all punk, all attitude, working out loss, feeling fear. ‘Freelancer’ is about making the jump and believing better things are out there. ‘Tealights’ is about acceptance and finding peace. ‘Holiday blues’ is about moving on and ends the EP on a note of hope. 

As Wreckless himself says “I really hope people see this journey in the music. I am in such a different headspace now, but I love how reflective this EP is of that time”.

Having previously featured on the label with the stand out track from NVR060: Eclipse EP 2, with their track Badman Feat. MC Talabun, Nu Venture Records welcome back the Brazilian partnership J Brown & Shotik for a 5 track EP of more dark and heavy hitting Drum & Bass.

Opening the release and setting the tone for the EP, is the tittle track Military Barracks, a bass heavy roller with a serious wobble. Next up and taking the bass down low is Frank Lucas (VIP) with it's bouncy Jump Up inspired vibes. Keeping the frequencies at the lower end of the spectrum with its sinister and dominating bassline, is The Other Side Of The Force, a track designed to make you stand up and take attention. The 4th track Break The Rules brings dark and eerie pads and a commanding bassline to the equation, before this dynamic EP is complete by Midnight Express, a dark and technical track with a downtempo feel.
