"Curiosity is what I miss the most from childhood years. By being constantly curious we keep discovering new things, we focus on the best ones and carry them forever during our life.
The more we discover the more we enrich our mind and shape our personality.
Through reading a book with a funny cover found on the street or listening to some cd’s stored in a dusty box we can start a passion that will last forever.
With 'Rescript', I try to get back that curiosity into my life: all the problems in life disappear, I am now free to use that cultural baggage that I carried with myself for long time but never truly opened.

These 4 tracks show where I culturally come from and where I am heading to: from clubbing and raving in Rome in the early 2000, exploring the London underground bass music scene during my 20’s till finally moving to Berlin and opening up to its techno state of mind.
The old script is now replaced with something that unties myself from a specific genre and makes me curious about what could happen if I mix all the sonic ingredients that are stored in my mind."

"My creativity is constantly ebbing and flowing. I go through months of experimentation, learning new tools, banging my head up against the wall with endless versions of tunes I’m just not happy with. And then, if I’m lucky, I hit a patch of several tunes coming together quickly. This EP was exactly that: three tunes that came together completely unexpectedly in a relatively short period of time. All of the new techniques finally melded with my mindset after a long stint of frustration and unproductiveness. No v27c, no overthinking it, just pure vibes and pieces falling into place. I had so much fun making these and I wish I knew the secret sauce for hitting that sweet spot in the studio regularly. I guess you just gotta power through the muck until the inspiration ambushes you and enjoy it while it lasts."

A familiar favourite, Deft, steps up with his second EP on Hooversound, featuring a VIP remix of one of his original songs taken from his 2020 ‘Burna’ EP.

Defts ‘Burna’ EP back in 2020 set the tone perfectly for Hooversound, it being the second release on the imprint following Hyroglific and Sinistarr’s almighty ‘BS6’. Deft’s hybrid artistic style of production sat perfectly within the launch of Hooversound as he went on to rise steadily within the underground electronic scene. Fast forward four years, Deft returns to Hooversound with an equally impressive follow up, entitled ‘Two Years’.

Yip Wong aka Deft has been producing music for nearly a decade. Within that time he has crafted a signature style using elements of dance, cinematic sound design, hip hop, jungle, footwork and 140. This enigmatic style of production has led him to release on 20/20 LDN, Exit, 1985 Music, Critical Music and more. His release schedule alongside his ever evolving sound has gained the attention of not only London and UK listeners, but fans worldwide.

Defts new ‘Two Years’ EP on Hooversound once again sees the talented producer drawing elements from 140, footwork and jungle, all laced with his ability to create immersive atmospheres and intricate percussion. It’s been teased across SHERELLE and NAINAs DJ sets for months, with it finally dropping to the masses this summer on Hooversound.

A.Fruit - Somnambulism [Premiere]

Disruptive Italian artist Fabrizio Carlini aka COIDO debuts on Nerve Collect with his Irreversible EP, which brings a hyper-charged collision of rhythm, tempo and genre.

COIDO is a new project from an accomplished artist who is all about engineering bold new sound worlds. It draws on a lifetime of collecting sonic data and pulls from techno, Jersey club, breakbeat, global groove and much more. Previous high-energy works found their way to labels like YUKU, Vision and Exit and into the record bags of artists like Jamie xx, Ivy Lab and dBridge. This latest EP sits in a space-time playground that imagines a new future for club music. 

Opener 'Irreversible' is powered by throbbing bass and intricate percussive accents that demand a physical response. Precise sound design, low-end distortion and humming static all bring it to life in HD. 'Make Make' is then a relentless 160 bpm assault with scattershot percussion triggering manic toms, twisted bass stabs and wordless vocal loops. It's controlled chaos and frenzied funk of the highest order. 'Majana' slows things down but is another sub-powered juggernaut with syncopated hits that swings, bumps and prowls in irresistible ways. '12am' is a dank, bass-loaded workout with warped pads bending around the kinetic architecture in ways that contort minds and bodies. Lastly, 'Delirio' is polyrhythmic bass science with ghostly pads and slithers of synth sketching out guaranteed dance floor hysteria. 

Weaponised, unpredictable, and wired for the future, this is club music for a post-genre world.
