Following the critical success of their acclaimed LPs The Tree and The Wind and The Silence Within, the enigmatic duo Ink & Sin announces their powerful return with a new double A-side single, “Static Contrast” / “Lawless Terrain,” out worldwide on Architecture Recordings.
This new release finds the duo refining their signature sound—a blend of atmospheric depth and visceral intensity. “Static Contrast” and “Lawless Terrain” serve as two sides of the same darkly gleaming coin, showcasing the dynamic range that has become their trademark.
“Static Contrast” builds on the “layered, textural soundscapes” praised in reviews of The Tree and The Wind. The track is a masterclass in tension, weaving intricate melodies through a pulsating, industrial-tinged rhythm section. It evokes the feeling of a fragile signal fighting through overwhelming noise, a theme of beauty persevering against chaos that resonates with their earlier work.
Its counterpart, “Lawless Terrain,” is a direct descent into the raw, unbridled energy that defined The Silence Within. Channeling the “visceral, rhythmic assault” that critics highlighted, the track is a propulsive and unforgiving journey. canary yellow makes dance music that thrives in the in-between - melodic yet propulsive, intricate yet explosive, delicate yet undeniably physical. On the 'Angel Club EP' for London label Faux Poly, the Los Angeles artist showcases a sound that carries the precision of UK techno & house with the fluidity of American bass music.

The title track is a dark, percussion-heavy breakbeat cut built for deep, focused dancefloor moments that leans on UKG and US influenced 2-step vibes with a low-end pulse and energetic vocals. "Front to Back," created in collaboration with fellow LA producer Next to Blue, is a high energy dub-infused house track driven by a simple, rolling groove and hypnotic chord stabs that create a suspended, atmospheric tension and euphoric release. Rounding out the EP is a peaktime four-on-the-floor reimagining of "Angel Club" that lifts the mood with a lighter bouncier energy while retaining its rhythmic precision and immersive flow of the original.

Since debuting on CloudCore with ‘Waterlily’, his sound has shapeshifted across releases on forward-thinking labels like Tabula Rasa, Daisy Chain, Conduit, and Bitbird. As much a producer as he is a DJ, canary yellow has found himself supporting and sharing the stage with artists who helped shape their vision such as Caribou, Conducta, Jacques Greene, Jasper Tygner, O’Flynn, and Villager and many others.
