After launching to great acclaim, The North Quarter returns for chapter two of its journey: Lenzman's 'Earth Tones EP'.

Consisting of eight new tracks (plus an additional two instrumentals), and featuring a host of collaborators, both old and new, the release carries directly on from the 'All For You EP'. Lenzman once again melds his Hip Hop, Soul and Jazz influences with his take on Drum & Bass to bring together an EP of heartfelt inner city music.

'In My Mind' sees the producer team up with IAMDDB, a Neo Soul singer who is part of a new wave of exciting upcoming artists from Manchester. Her unique voice and disconnection from Drum & Bass gives the two a chance to forge a new direction.

'Earth Tones' sees further collaborations with well-established vocalist Steo on 'Tender Love', and with Metalheadz veteran Jubei on 'Park Hill'. San Franciscan resident and long time collaborator Submorphics joins for 'Bayview', which all come together to give the whole package a beautifully rounded, truly open worldview.

Total Science & DLR - Too Close for Comfort

Calibre is a name known to all in Drum & Bass as one of the pinnacles of the genre. It’s impossible to venture into a club and not hear one of his seminal tracks being played, and with this latest addition to his Innerground repertoire the good times are still coming.

Kicking things off with “Typical Things”, we go back in time to the iconic sounds of the Musique Concrete album. The track switches quickly after opening with a drizzle of cascading keys and minimal percussion before launching headfirst into a pulsating and invigorating combination of basslines and breaks.

“Simple Sa” is more deliberate in its advances and spares no time in getting to the heart of the matter after some truly deft piano work and vocal sample layering. “Simple Sa” is almost tailor-made for a DJ Marky set as it ebbs and flows with an undeniable funk and deep vibe throughout.

Calibre’s attention to his craft is what makes him one of the most sought after producers on the planet, and “Typical Things / Simple Sa” is a testament to his enduring abilities. Smooth, sultry and truly of the highest Calibre.

Revan - aka Haden White - is a name most associated with one half of Bristol duo Ill Truth. Having spent the last few years making a name for himself as part of the heavy hitting combo, Haden's solo project finally gets a release - and it's a blinder. 

Co-produced by Primitive Instinct - a rising Bristol producer who's definitely one to keep an eye on - 'Move To Me' is a soulful, seductive roller that's been making the rounds for a while. The whole EP is wicked from start to finish & it's out now on Lockdown Recordings so check it out.
