Description: Hear the amazing story of survival from an eyewitness to the tragic events of WWII, and beautiful Polish Music.

My father Wladyslaw Antoni was born in 1922 in Łukowiec Wiśniowski, about 140 miles south from Wolyn, the village of Mrs. Wanda. He moved with his parents and siblings to Bielin, near Drohiczyn, Polesie. My father was arrested by the Russian NKVD (later KGB) at the end of September 1939 and transported to the labor camp Workutlag, near Workuta, in the Komi Republic of Russia. He survived both Russia and the war; he served as a soldier under General Maczek in the First Polish Armoured Division. After the war he stayed in the Netherlands. He rarely spoke about his wartime experiences. Therefore, Mrs. Wanda's story is a valuable document to preserve. It provides a clear picture of what it was like back then, the hardships the Polish people had to endure, during and after their deportation. A compliment to the creator, Andrzej Gołębiowski. I will regularly follow this station to see if there are more stories. Warm greetings from the Netherlands to all listeners.

Disquiet Junto Project 0593: The Charm
The Assignment: Record the second third of an asynchronous trio.

When I listened to https://soundcloud.com/bzurke/disquiet-junto-project-0592-better-than-one-noodle-twister-nobody-home-soundoferror-bass-vi based on https://soundcloud.com/noodletwister/nobody-home-disquiet0591 I instantly felt like when I was in Berlin at the Superbooth two days before, sitting in the sun, too lazy to visit all those synthesizers. All the time there were one, two or three acts playing something somewhere, which was sometimes a cacophony, sometimes it just fitted. So I added a rusty granular noise and fresh field recordings from Berlin, and really: This is how it sometimes could have sounded there, while you were sitting in the sun, too lazy to visit all those synthesizers. Maybe overstuffed, but I like this very much, of course especially because Soundoferror played so fine on Noodle Twisters great soundscape.

Disquiet Junto Project 0620: Beat Accrual Accrual
The Assignment: Turn someone’s slow-build beat into a finished track.

Step 1: In the previous project, people built beats that accrue slowly over time. Familiarize yourself with the instructions at disquiet.com/0619 5.

Step 2: Several of the musicians who participated last week have allowed their tracks to be reused for this project. The majority are in this playlist. If you’d like your track from the previous project included this week, just get in touch and let me know.


For this test I used 2 pieces from the previous compilation:
1) GoingModular - Disquieting Polyrhythm
2) fakeg3nius - [disquiet0619] Rhythm
 I was particularly fascinated by the loop, which with very few notes and chords manages to create this suspended sensation of strong melancholy and, at the same time, of hope. On the other hand, the response, dry and peremptory, of the phrasing and timbre of the drums. I added, at the beginning and end of the piece, some "disturbance" lines, always rhythmic.
