New version with a bass clarinet by Paulo Chagas ( Peniche/Portugal )


Paulo Chagas:

Composer, music teacher and multi-instrumentist. He has dedicated his intervention to several strands of contemporary music, electro-acoustic, ambiental, free improvisation, jazz and chamber music. He still works on music production, promotion of concerts and festivals of improvised music and also writing about music in magazines and blogs.
Here's a review about Zpoluras Demos album from 2005 writing by Nuno Lourenço at Proggnosis:::::::: "Zpoluras Demo is an excentricity from Paulo Chagas. This demo release presents itself to me as one of the most experimental and challenging sonic works that I've had the chance to review (many others I do not even dare to comment…eheh!) The music that is to be found in Zpoluras Demo has this strange dichotomy: it can be experimental to the maximum, throwing dissonances and atonal sounds in an almost free-jazz manner upon an almost minimal rhythm section, but it can also register in more atmospheric moves, where a cinematographic component make us imagine a black & White movie trip through some old Lisbon neighborhoods. 
And if Paulo already makes us visit his two-headed sonic world, he does it in a way where the separation of both styles is not clearly defined. He mixes the tracks in a random way, which makes the listener travel in his experimentation and bizarre musical conception parts with the same ease that he will travel through the calm, melodic, introspective ones. It's a constant challenge, the one that he proposes us and that projects us, without time to breathe, in a universe of sonic contradictions, in which warm melodies are mixed with anarchic marks of pure Avant-Garde. There is a shining light here. 
A revolutionary soul that has a fall for nostalgia and melancholy. And it is, deep inside, the reckless defense of the principles that guide his musical identity, that makes me admire Paulo Chagas so much. This and the fact he is such a brilliant musician! "Zpoluras Demo is, therefore, a sonic document about a life's musical philosophy against stagnation and monotony. The portrait of a many years struggle in favor of the ideas based on experimentation and the escape from all that is conventional. This is how our Paulo is….and this is his musical imaginarium!"

Marco Gomes ft Paulo Chagas- Seventy cold inversions (Bass clarinet edit)

-The producer Marco Gomes started performing on stage in Pau at the beginning of the 2000's.
In 2006, he created the association Southnoise of which he is president and which aim is the promotion of electronic arts in all its forms. Since then, Southnoise has organized many parties and performances, particularly the « Rencontres Alternatives de Montardon ».

-The main purpose of the festival was to program several artistic forms such as dancing, music, photography, visual arts -painting, sculpture etc...- and to create a place to exchange and share ideas within the rich of everyone. 
In 2008, influenced by the wave of minimal techno, he went into a partnership with Allan Duplouich to form the duet Phun[q]matic, a collaboration in-between live and dj set. Together they are very active on local stages -Bindy Club, Terasses de Beaumont- and Spanish stages -Electrosonic Festival in Burgos (liveact winner), ElRow  in Barcelona, The off festival of Benicasim, Itzela, Pagoa, Tunk in Irun etc.....
 
-In 2009, Marco Gomes produced several tracks and remixes which make him sign on several labels.

-The year 2010 marked a real transition in the artistic career of Marco Gomes. Influenced by the movements of ambient music and elecronica, he is now heading towards a music with deeper and more introspective atmospheres. Soon, he recorded his first album called Week, which he signed on the Parisian label Incursion Records. Week is composed of 7 tracks with heavy rythmics between electronica, dubstep and downtempo. After the success of the album, he decided to combine music with dancing and video and created the project Week in, Week out  in September 2010, a 30 minute live performance. Since then he has had many collaborations with choregraphers, companys and played many productions on dance stages -Saint Louis theatre, Palais Beaumont etc....

-Today, by signing his latest productions on the Parisian label Lutetia Dubz Records, he carries on with his experimentation and reaches a happy balance between ambient, Idm and electronica.
