Combining traditional indie with elements of Funk, Grunge & Hip Hop, I Set The Sea On Fire are making a name for themselves as the next massive sound out of Sheffield. With 4 Part harmonies, a trumpet, trombone & flute alongside the traditional indie band the sound is hard to describe, but they've settled with comparing it to an off shore oil rig explosion, but with less screams and a lot more trumpet. Having shared the stage with bands such as Heaven 17, Buzzcocks & Dog Is Dead, the band are well known for their massive live shows which have been described as a “Powerfully energetic set which could get the dead dancing, but with the most beautiful harmonies Ive heard live in a long time”.

Weekend Kicks are a fun loving four piece indie band who are fast becoming a must see on the Sheffield music scene. Combining catchy sing along anthems with soulful and intricate story telling, this is a band whose eclectic repertoire and 'party-style' live performances have been the key to their recent rise to prominence. Fresh from a sold out launch gig of their debut EP, Weekend Kicks are high riding the crest of a wave. Quite simply, this is a band that have it. Catch them if you can!

Spoonjuice Records, is an independent mp3 record label based in Sheffield, uk created in 1993. Spoonjuice was the first ever online mp3 record label which is run by the bands envolved as a collective unit, fronted by Rob Cohen, a person who has long been a supporter of the Sheffield music scene. ”We have had an interesting ride over the past couple of years, the label has evolved in it’s thoughts, ideas and approach to how the industry is going to work for us as a collective independent label”. 

There are quite a few things in the pipeline, and hopefully we will be having a few more bands will be joining our roster. The label originally started in 1993 releasing tapes, vinyl and cd’s it’s first official release being ”Worlds Greatest Bore” by Marmalade Sun, who recently have reformed and are releasing their back catalogue exclusively with Spoonjuice Records on Mp3 format.
