Weerd Science - Kabul (unreleased)

This unfinished track is dated circa fall 1998 and features theband3’s original line-up: Joey Eppard, Josh Eppard, Chris Bittner).  Background vocals were provided by Michael “Clip” Payne of P-Funk and the empty-sounding instrumental section after the second chorus is where Dr. Know of Bad Brains’ guitar solo should be.  This version of the song was ripped from cassette exactly a decade after it was recorded.

The collaborative improv-rock band MATH lead by Billy Riker, recorded a collection of songs at Darkworld Studio in 2007. "We Were Optional" features Alana Orr (aka Orchid) on bass. The rest of the band on this recording is: Michael Schirmer, Joey Eppard, Max Oleson, David Bodie. It was engineered and mixed by David Parker. The record, "InsertYourNameHere" is out of print.

Ok, let me explain what this is….My man Dirty Ern got suspended from his day job, for reasons I can’t speak on, and I had a week off of tour with Terrible Things…So I decided to pay him a visit in his tiny basement apartment in Queens…We figured we’d take a few days to just drop some fire for people…So here it comes, low budget basement tape shit…

We got together and made all of this from scratch…I am writing lyrics as we go and just putting in work.  We will see how many tracks we can blast off for everyone…

Josh Eppard (aka Weerd Science) started his career early on landing a major label record deal with Universal at the age of seventeen as the drummer and co-songwriter of the band 3. After a ten year tenure with the band and becoming a casualty in the infamous Universal-Polygram merger, Josh, against the advice of managers and loved ones, left the band in pursuit of a career as a studio musician. In just two years time he played on four records including two major label releases (Hesher - Warner Bros. and R.A. the Rugged Man - Priority/EMI). As his studio chops improved with every project, he would later join a local outfit at the time known as Shabütie (which later became Coheed and Cambria). In time with this group he had found success until his departure in 2006 due to his own personal demons and internal creative struggles.

It should be noted:
no matter what project Josh is committed to, Weerd Science is always at the forefront of his creative mind.

At the heart of “SICK KIDS” is his story of the toll success can have on your psyche and the scars left on his heart from the sacrifices made to become a success. After taking time off to get healthy and figure out where his musical compass pointed, Josh has never been more ready and dedicated to making his next vision come alive!
