Apophenia, the forthcoming Lumisokea EP on Opal Tapes, is the culmination of a long period of work on analog hardware and the unique sound transformation achieved with reel-to-reel tape saturation. We've focused on the machine-like and propulsive side of our music, incorporating rhythmical elements coming from south Indian classical music, techno & dub.

The Bristol-based DJ and producer heads the Nostro Hood System label which features his own work as well as cuts by Aircode, Amazondotcom, Siete Catorce, and many others. As a producer, his back-catalog includes releases on labels such as Infinite Machine, NAAFI, Files Rec, and Druid Cloak's Apothecary Compositions. The Australian selector has meticulously developed his sound over the last decade and is inspired by techno, UK, Drum & Bass, and more meaning his sets touch many corners of the world. Lock in!

This new album sets new heights for Doline, his trademark sound & style is prominent within 'Dompte-regard', with his intricate sound design ever present. 
Throughout the LP, his synth work and captivating melodies make it glide between blissful home listening and adventurous club tracks. Fluctuating through tempo & moods with ease, 'Dompte-regard' could not sum up Doline any better, a truly fantastic representation of an extremely talented emo producer. 

For the first time this release will be also proposed in a CD version ! A beautiful object designed by Unité Services. A concept around transparency "to tame your sight". Only 100 copies available.

At least if you ask Paul Baran himself. To others, it might as well be an equally challenging and diverse collection of electro-acoustic atmospheres, rhythmic experiments, and theoretical manoeuvres, not without a touch of funk. The Other was composed by Baran and recorded together with Werner Dafeldecker, Axel Doerner, Lucio Capece, Sebastian Lexer and many others in Glasgow, and in STEIM studios in Amsterdam, over the last few years. 


About the artist:

Born in 1975, Paul Baran is a composer, electro-acoustic sound designer and improviser based in Glasgow, Scotland. Baran's first album, Panoptic, was released by Fang Bomb in 2009. It was received with great reviews by the global press, and featured collaborations with artists such as Werner Dafeldecker, Ekkehard Ehlers, Keith Rowe and Andrea Belfi.
