“First, thanks for asking us to make a mix for ye; we’re delighted to do so and hope ye like what we’ve put together.
My name’s Robbie Geoghegan. I’m from the midlands in Ireland called Longford. I got into electronic music around the age of twelve or thirteen. My brother had the Ventolin remixes by Aphex Twin, I loved em and it grew from there. Since then, I’ve been collecting records and have been lucky enough to live in a decent amount of different cities and pick up stuff in each of em. They all had something different musically, from forgotten disco in Vancouver to cracking nights out in Dublin, Belfast and Glasgow. I also learned a huge amount form the CBS, now IntergalacticFM and an amazing resource, and forums like robotsfororobts.
My family are pretty wordy, second name included in that, so I figured I’d do some music writing in my early twenties. I’ve been writing for Igloo Mag (www.igloomag.com) for well over a decade now and really love working with Pietro and all the guys there. It’s been a savage way to meet people and keep up to date with the weird and whacky world of machine music. Nowadays I continue to write for Igloo and I also write copy for a number of labels, to name drop a few, such as Frigio here in Madrid, Bordello A Parigi in Amsterdam and Shipwrec also in The Netherlands. I love doing it.
Despite loving Glasgow the weather is a grind so I decided to pack up and move again. Records and turntables went back to Ireland and myself and my girlfriend moved to Madrid. It’s a brilliant spot. It’s a wee bit under the radar as everyone goes to Barcelona so ya avoid the Berlin effect of people just screaming to be heard. The people into music here, like Juanpablo from Frigio or Aitor who runs Femur, are super into it and real sound heads. After a year here I moved all my records over, and the flat is steadily filling up with more.
I met Chris through a friend of my wife’s and we hit it off immediately. It’s pretty hard to find folk into electronic music but Chris knows his stuff and also picks up different things to me which is great as we can bounce off each other. 
I’m  Chris Robertson and I was born and raised in the south of Glasgow, Scotland. My musical taste evolved through the well slightly cliched and well-trodden path of UK punk and American hardcore in my early teens through to the acerbic analogical noise of groups like Big Black and Scratch Acid. When I was 20 I discovered the illegal after-hours scene in Glasgow and bought a pair of technics 1210s from the owner of a shitty eurotrance club that was going into liquidation. I started buying records from local stores and after spending time in Berlin, I moved to Madrid to escape an ex girlfriend. I didn’t expect to spend long there but, by chance, I got caught up in the small but fertile scene here and became a regular at great club nights like analogical force and femur. It’s my home now and glad to be a small part of the scene here.
The mix is some tracks we like and thought went well together. We don't stick to one style too much. Well that’s partially true. Sometimes it can be fun to limit yourself to something like techno and explore how broad it can be, other times fun to just fiddle about and see what comes of it.

NEUD PHOTO aka Nico Nightingale - prolific electronic producer from NYC native - now residing in Barcelona. Nico boasts a dossier of releases on various labels including Lone Wolf, Frigio,and Rat Life to name a few, and it’s safe to say he’s making waves with his sound. The synth enthusiast travels back and forth between New Beat, Electro, Chicago House and Industrial with rugged melodies and gloomy basslines alongside some unexpected drops, all together building a relentless essence. Neud Photo is a talented artist with a healthy addiction to hardware serving up another great example of electronic music. He’s in a new project called, Suicide AFTR 7 with an upcoming release on EYA Records. 🐠

Although 30 years after its birth this fundamental electronic gem called 'Reflections' has achieved cult status, it is worth remembering that it all started in 1993 in a small apartment in Waterloo, London, with the help of a mixer and a bunch of hardware synth and drum machines of hardware, with the mastodontic Oberheim OB-8 synthesizer as the main partner.

While in the UK the vast majority of kids showed a certain rejection of what came from North America in the form of electro, Kirk Degiorgio, under his alias As One, embraced it openly and incorporated it into his productions along with influences from other genres that he had already adored since he was young, such as jazz, soul or funk, thus becoming one of the true early adopters of Detroit techno in the UK.

If we look back, 'Reflections' is a challenge in itself, and even more so considering what the consumption pattern of electronic music was in the early 90s. This timeless album fits into the delicate border between being enough club to work on the dance floor, and still being musical and cerebral enough to be listened to at home. A milestone that, whether premeditated or not, Degiorgio more than achieved.

Three decades later Lapsus Records has been able to access the pre-masters extracted from the original DATs to build a special 30th anniversary edition within its Perennial series. For the occasion, this reissue not only offers the tracks included in the first edition, it also adds the songs 'The Priestess' –never released on vinyl before– and Forgotten Memory –until now unreleased and rediscovered in one of the DATs dating back to 1992 from the 'Reflections' recording sessions. We are therefore facing the definitive edition of an album that, despite coexisting with the explosion of the rave movement, would pave the path for the UK-Detroit connection.

The heat has arrived on Madrid’s city streets and to combat it WE FORFEIT have gathered together two hours of sizzling electronics to up the ante.
Ryan James Ford takes centre stage on this show with four of his tracks in the mix. Serious talent and one we’ll be after in the future, I’m sure. 
Crème Organization is well represented this month with the some beauts care of Iv/An, Fabio Monesi and TX Connect. To combat the heat, we’ve dug into the electro shelves of The Netherlands with Klakson, Frustrated Funk and Shipwrec. The party is in full swing with the likes of Daniel Monaco leading a path for the outrageous shenanigans of Danny Boy and the Serious Party Gods.
