Soy gran fan de Chilly Gonzales, un comienzo delicioso.

La vida se mueve en pasos agigantados. De aquella primera toma de contacto con nuestro protagonista hasta el día de hoy, han transcurrido casi veinte años. Dioni Sánchez resultó ser un bonito descubrimiento por aquellos días. Fuimos espectadores de la nueva ola electrónica de club valenciana tras la decadencia de "La Ruta del Bacalao". La ciudad costera necesitaba respirar aires nuevos y aquí es donde, precisamente, entra en escena su señoría:

"Nací en Valencia en 1973, actualmente soy profesor e investigador en una escuela superior de diseño. Siempre me he interesado por la música y el diseño y, sobre todo, en la intersección de ambas disciplinas, una relación que he explorado a lo largo de mi carrera profesional. A finales de los ochenta empecé a salir a clubs y conciertos en la ciudad de Valencia. Quedé fascinado por nuestra cultura: música, diseño, moda y también su parte de contracultura y política. Años más tarde decidí ponerme tras los platos y empecé a trabajar en comunicación visual, proyectos audiovisuales, interiorismo para clubes, etcétera".

De aquella fascinación y otros amores, surgió la impronta creativa de residir durante varios años en una de las sesiones que marcaron ese nuevo rumbo en Valencia, Le Club, de donde hemos escogido esta colección de canciones grabada en 2003 y que aún conservamos como oro en paño. Se trata de uno de los sets promocionales exclusivos que la dirección del club solía regalar en la entrada. La forma de pinchar de Dioni nos enamoró al instante, su peculiar energía profunda y ralentizada era una especie de rara avis dentro del circuito de clubs por donde salíamos a bailar. Un ámbito siempre mágico y envolvente, aunque marcado por la falta de regulación en cuanto a trabajo digno se refiere y cierta extensión contradictoria del mal llamado "por amor al arte". Si el ocio es cultura, también es trabajo. La eterna paradoja:

"Creo que lo que comentas tiene más que ver con la cultura del ocio nocturno nacional. Los dueños o promotores de clubs en raras ocasiones te dan de alta en la seguridad social o te hacen un contrato. Para los artistas internacionales es otra cosa, ellos sí que trabajan de forma totalmente legal. Esto tiene mucho que ver con el sistema de clases dentro de la profesión (que lo hay). Nunca se ha valorado el trabajo de los artistas locales de la misma forma. Existe, por tanto, una cierta discriminación a la hora de regular las condiciones de trabajo. Si la pregunta es si los artistas locales lo deberían exigir, la respuesta es sí, pero indudablemente muchos se quedarán sin trabajar o no tendrán las mismas posibilidades que los que trabajan en b. Eso no quiere decir que esté a favor de este sistema, pero hay que analizar la situación en su complejidad".

"Besides being a very special event, Mostra is also a small community where respect and admiration between audiences and artists is essential. Taking place in the outstanding Montjuic Castle, Mostra had an exciting programme where dance and experimentation were at the same level.

For my live set I used some classic analog instruments, playing realtime rhythms and improvising harmonies over some preprogrammed sequences and creating deep grooves and atmospheres with the support of intense profound sub-basses.

Wego - Nice Weather

Laura BCR’s On Board Music delivers its third release, following two mini-LP projects from Healing Force Project and Mesak. The ‘Point A’ project marks the beginning of a series of VA’s coming on the imprint focusing on both established and up and coming talents from different origins, stylistically ranging from ambient to techno and all meeting together on the dance floor. French painter Natacha Mankowski provided the artwork once again.

Today we are thrilled to premiere ‘Love Fall’ by Lanoche, an incredibly talented artist based in Madrid. ‘Love Fall’ is an ethereal opener fueled by hypnotic pads, wandering bass tones and heavily reverberated, shuffled percussion. 

The rest of ‘Point A’ compilation is equally impressive with tracks by Serena Butler, Estrato Aurora, Eugene and Vera Logdanini. 

Point A is coming out on October 28 via On Board Music.

Premiere: Error Etica "Hologram Universe" (Estrato Aurora Remix) - Concerns Music

Since Jordi Aragón was a child, he has maintained a narrow relationship with technology and electronic music, mainly between computers and software tools, treating both from a transgressor and innovative point of view.

In his Live Sets we can listen to sounds that include from minimal techno or minimal dub to tech-house in its experimental side, all of them oriented to dancefloor.

After a first contact with the local scene in Valencia, Jordi Aragón (Wego) performs his coming-out at the Goa Festival in Madrid thanks to Producciones UHF (Le Club). Later he went being part of the dead artistic collective of Nomenklatura. Then Wego was a part of resident artist of the emblematic Valencian club Barraca.

Otherwise, Wego was made promotional tasks and technological support to  Aerobic Studio Rec (UHF Productions / Le Club). Besides Wego works with  Jaime Romero ( Notch /  Lontano ) in various tracks that will be out soon.
