Last month, DJ Quezs gave me hands down the most unique birthday gift one could ever receive: A two hour mix of my music ranging anywhere from new releases to some rough drafts that are over 10 years old. Unfortunately, we were not able to share it at the time due to commitments I was unable to break.

So, Quezs and I decided to run it back, but live on Twitch this time around. It was a pleasure hearing this because you tend to forget the work [and terrible beats] it takes to eventually find your sound. Episode 018 wraps up February with a smooth and laid back guest mix by Raphael, a DJ/producer, designer and co-founder of the intimate and soulful club night 'Heart & Soul', hailing from London, UK. Growing up, Raphael was raised on a diet of soul, rare groove and funk from his parents' collection. In the following years, he started listening to London's pirate radio stations, which opened his ears to the finest in deep and soulful house music. And later on, he eventually discovered Hip-Hop and the art of sampling, which led him to explore jazz and classical music.

This set is a testament to his passion for underground sounds, and a journey through his musical roots and inspirations. Expect to hear  soulful sounds spread across Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, R&B and Jazz.
