This set debuted on Holotropic Happy Hour (former streaming A/V show I co-produced on Bluetech's Twitch channel for over 2 years) in June 2022. A portion of it was recorded during a live stream in 2021, and the rest was curated for HHH. I call it "Smoovie" because all of the tunes feel like "smoov grooves" to me. There's a handful of contemporary tunes in this mix, along with some timeless classics from the era when I first discovered downtempo (mid 90s).

MALAKAI is the musical vision of Brooklyn based producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist, Malakai Linden. Drawing on a wide range of influences, his music strives to bridge a gap between electronic and acoustic spaces, incorporating sounds of real-world instruments and recordings into an eclectic brand of bass driven electronic beats.
Malakai began producing in 2011 at the age of 17 under the guidance of acclaimed producer/guitarist Derek VanScoten (Cloudchord, D.V.S*) and went on to earn a degree in Music Technology from New York University. In 2017, he teamed up with Wyler Sanca and Francesco Ferran to form The Rust Music, a record label, blog and production company dedicated to showcasing forward-thinking music and art in NYC and across the country.
Over the past few years, Malakai has been featured on releases through Desert Trax, The Rust Music and Street Ritual.

This makes him a reliable long endurance dj.

Psy Trance Dj: on the way for his own live set, Naan is always ready to play forest, twilight, morning trance or progressive, choosing every track according to the feelings, the situation and the dancefloor, in a range of bpm from 150 to 130 for hours of psy-vibes and always in the mood for another one! The dish is enriched with his own productions, making every show original, always deeply psychedelic and filled with light inside, even in the darkest mix!

The Weka is a flightless bird native to Aotearoa (New Zealand) infamous among local outdoorsmen for pilfering your snacks and scuttling back into the bush when you’re not looking. 

Weka Tek is the pseudonym of electronic artist Brendan Evans (of the same geography), who will always ask politely before he takes a crisp. Known for a distinct hybrid fusion of techno, psychedelic, and dubbed-out frequencies that sound like they emerged from the bush—Weka Tek blends synthesised rhythms with ambient textures to evoke the rich, immersive qualities of Aotearoa’s untamed landscapes.
