First Step To Peace

Glad to share our first release of the year, produced by Andrei Rusu and including a remix from Beatrice M. The Romanian and Berlin-based artist has been deeply involved in electronic music production, DJ-ing, and live performance as part of the duo Khidja. We discovered his music through his first solo EP, "I’ve Lost Control", released in 2024 on Berlin based label Malka Tuti, followed by the album "Met Him On A Wednesday", released under his alias Ed Rain and marked by its introspective tone and experimental approach. His weird electro sound is influenced by post punk, DIY and wave. Rusu’s music is organic, exploratory and unconventional.

Andrei: « This is my most cathartic to date, it’s quite haunting and feels a bit like screaming into a pillow. I imagine it as the perfect soundtrack to banging your head against a table. »

A key element throughout the EP’s sound and lively feeling is the use of Andrei’s favorite machines such as the Mort’s Barge module, the Microtonic or the Syncussion. He creates captivating soundscapes and deep evolutive atmospheres that inspired Beatrice M. to deliver a slow bassy belter that compliments this release perfectly.

Komarken Electronics is definitely a familiar name for the electro heads. In 2007, the Swedish producer signed an album on Karl Lukas Eargoggle’s Stilleben awesome label, he also appears in a compilation on Dominance Electricity, released an EP in 2011 on The Exaltics Solar One Music and several auto-productions. He’s back on london-based imprint brokntoys for which we already premiered Dez Williams and Dan White tracks few months ago. Here’s a brilliant take of "Early Mornings" by dutch producer Delta Funktionen which transforms the original in an hypnotic floor filler with its super efficient 4/4 beat, acid bassline and lush pads ! Out of the “Internationale Normalitätszentrale” Bufiman delivers the soundtrack - a looong breakbeat piece loaded with Casio CZ sequences in form of sunbeams which are tickling your senses, Wolf Mülleresque kinda adlibs floating around your head and are stimulating your membrana tympanica. Precise snare drum samples from all around the globe transmitted via the MPC minister are throbbing. This is the “Members Of Warning Theme 2020”.

A darker and more disturbing approach comes from our family member Nadia D’Alò under her DALO alias. This track is more like - did you ever went to a dark and sweaty basement Electro party while in the middle of the floor at 04:20 a yellow purple sprinkled zebraseal named “ZAFRAM“ Mc Schnork wants to sell you liability insurance for a special discount? The 808 is bouncing, accents are placed carefully and harsh but also cute baby demon vocal effects are panning in between all 4 dimensions while the 303 hits you so hard that your legs are shaking? Then it gets really weird when this strange looking Otter from New York in a pink pony costume pops up and takes out the gear of his attache, offering you everything to pass the bat country safely? Well, it’s Philipp Otterbach's “Otter Space Mix” which put this special flavour on top.
