Powerfully primed for the bass-favoring ranks of electronic music, South Central has proven to be one of the genre’s most unconventional kingpins. A live dance outfit driven to spit in the face of 21st century dance music’s comfort zones, their tremendous sound has mustered incredible landmarks across the globe. Now taking the industry by storm on their own unique terms, these Brighton, UK-based trailblazers really are the unapologetic face of eclectic bass culture that modern dance music has been praying for. 

Emerging with the ability to unite versatile productions and a stubborn track record for live dance redemption, their collaborative efforts have benefitted from a double-edged approach to dance floor dominance. Drawing influences as broad as metal, house and classical music, that fusion of big band energy and coherent dance values remains untouchable. Forget the cookie cutter ranks of dub step and its various offshoots – when South Central strike up, their impact is always felt. 
Armed with three genre-defiant EPs for Dim Mak and successive offerings for Ultra and Big Fish Recordings, their ability to bring new noise to prolific imprints has had the bass-savvy masses gasping for air from day one. Treating their productions as a relentless yet intimate science that opts for innovation over repetition, their middle-finger stance has earned them some serious industry credentials along the way. With a nod of approval as dignified as The Prodigy behind them, this antidote to electronic dance saturation looks to be turning all the right heads.  

Such a versatile sound was always going to wreck havoc on the club floor. Connecting crowds with a focus on upfront energy over meaningless pyrotechnics, South Central remains the center of every one of their adrenaline-fuelled performances. Count tour duties alongside The Prodigy, pendulum, DJ Fresh and Jaguar Skills, plus supporting slots for the likes of Rage Against The Machine and Vitalic and their live capability remains a vital modern dance crossbreed to the industry’s ever-expanding floodgates.

These remorseless antics are showing no signs of slowing on the approach to 2014. Between a remix package for their infamous Hollywood EP, a welcome return to Dim Mak with the Run Hide Survive EP and a peak in attention towards their own Mad Music imprint, the next twelve months look to remain as loud, proud and provocative as we have come to expect from this cutting edge duo set to defile dance music’s safe zones beyond repair.

My career started in 2006 after listening to my friend called DJ Savage who played liquid drum and bass around the Newbury area along with listening to tape packs such as Fantazia, Global Gathering and Sidewinder some of which I attended. I purchased a set of basic Gemini direct drive turntables about a few months later along with my first collection of around about 20 vinyl from Total Sounds in Reading.

One of my very first records was Ed Rush and Optical’s "the Creeps EP" alongside Goldie’s "Saturn Return EP" which inspired me big time. I met a man called Kev Clark in 2006 who goes by the names of DJ Tiempo and MC Clarkee who has a great knowledge of music and taught me the 10 musical commandments and helped me start something that I am professional in now and that is being a Drum and Bass DJ.
We started recording and writing music using Cubase which even to date is in the recording stage before being published. Look out for future productions from myself the DJ Miller and DJ Tiempo.
One year on in 2007 I decided that enough was enough and got rid of those weak / sensitive Gemini decks and replaced them with Technics 1210 Mark 5 turntables and a Pioneer DJM 600 mixer from Ebay. Nu Urban, Chemical Records and Breakbeat were now my prime choice for vinyl and equipment based online in the United Kingdom.
Moving on from those good old days I progressed my mixing styles with the latest jump up Drum and Bass and Dub-step adding tracks from my favorite producers such as Rusko, Caspa, Flux Pavilion, Datsik, Pleasure, Clipz, Hazard, Taxman, Original Sin, Sly, Twisted Individual, Dillinja, TC, Guv, Zinc and Hype to name a few. My record collection consists of well over 1000+ vinyl.

From 2006 I have played for organizations such as 36 Chambers, Freestyle Artist Management, Selecta and Lowdown at the notorious Purple Turtle, the Jazz Club, The Bullingdon, the White House and Plug and Play Studios. I have performed with big artists such as MC Bassman, DJ Sly, Zero G, Benny Page, DJ Tiempo, Gee and MC Nutcracka.

I am now a well-established professional Drum and Bass / Dub-step DJ with some very exciting future prospects and can't wait to see what else the future will hold for me. Bring on the bass and let the good times roll.

Far Too Loud is all about hi-tech, dancefloor-destroying music that makes people throw their hands in the air and go crazy. Think high-energy, aggressive funk with big basslines and crazy edits and you’ll know the sound. 

Formed by Oli Cash and Dom Smart back in 2005, their sound quickly won fans and only two years later picked up 'Best Single' at the Breakspoll Awards.  Later that year the FTL anthem 'Play It Loud', which saw a move from breakbeat to dirty electro-house, received a massive response and remains a crowd-pleaser to this day. 2009 saw the duo split with Dom forming techno moniker Neurodriver and Oli continuing with FTL, producing a string of electro chart-smashers including 'Bring Back Boogie' and 'Megaloud'.

The bass-fueled releases of 2012’s ‘Firestorm’ EP and the follow-up 'Faster Than Light' EP received high praise from all over the bass music scene, bursting with the now familiar big production and energy. Cementing FTL’s place in the bass music scene, these paved the way for more recent releases on heavyweight labels including OWSLA, Never Say Die, Disciple, and Monstercat, and remixes for bass-lords Zomboy, Snails and Pegboard Nerds.

Well experienced in delivering unique sets packed with energy, whether it’s 200 people in a sweaty underground club or 20,000 at an outdoor festival, you can be sure it’s going to go off when FTL is in control!
