WELVÄERT is an audio-visual artist from Antwerp, Belgium. His work is mainly influenced by late 80's/early 90's ELECTRONIC BODY MUSIC like Front 242 and early noughties ELECTRO REVIVAL acts like Black Strobe & The Hacker.

Every line of his tracks is crafted with the highest care for sensorial impact. Starting from a scenographic script, he follows the path of an abstract movement to welcome you in a different universe. Sometimes strong, bold and dark. Sometimes light, minimal and fragile. The sound reflects the energy beyond any limit of space and time. Feeling your senses from top down, till high up, you can't resist his quest throughout the sonic wastelands of noise, melancholy & euphoria. Enter the realm of WELVÄERT.

Cedric Vaessen, drummer van Wooly Mammoths, grijpt met zijn solo project CeVa naar de liefde voor melancholie, gepolijst met ironisch optimisme. De boodschap van debuutsingle Afterthought is duidelijk: ‘plaatsen hebben geen betekenis in het leven, behalve als je er gebeurtenissen of mensen aan kan koppelen’.  Van Maastricht tot Brussel, met een dozijn tussenstops als woonplaats;  vormde de voedingsbodem voor nostalgische hersenspinsels, die Cedric inspireerde om CeVa’s debuut EP te schrijven. Nadenkmuziek voor dwalende optimisten.
