I Had You (On My Mind)

This song is a blend of the production values of 4 of my favorite bands:

Asleep at the Wheel, Harry Nillson, and Rockpile (Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds), and NRBQ...

The idea for the song is about the "AfterLife", which I saw an yet another opportunity to say something about love, albeit with tongue in cheek....  Yet, completely true....

No Life After You

Another new tune for July….

This is, “A Whole Lotta Nothin”, a co-write with my decades long friend, Wendy Conrad…

We started this at my studio, OtherHand, in December…   Then, I took on a few projects, mixing and mastering a potential broadway show pitch for Chris Elliott, a singles for Lorin Hart and Warren Sellers, as well working on the release of From Different Mothers’ new album, “Kickin Up Dust”, with Jimmy Yessian, coming soon….

And then.....   The upside down life of quarantine, and fled to my desert recording rig... After finishing up the aforementioned material, I circled back to finish up some of the projects I had begun earlier…   This track, done entirely in isolation, has made me rethink my creation and production protocols…   The days of me, sitting in very close proximity to friends and clients, coaching them thru performances, may be over, at least for a while...   And if the production on this new track is indeed the new normal, then I'm OK with that...  This tune just sparkles... 

A Whole Lotta Nothing…   The point at which one realizes that love’s payoff is not forthcoming in an invested relationship, for whatever reason…  And we ask ourselves why we stayed so long…. for what?

Happy to be joined by the OtherHand, my revolving band of players with a stellar nucleus…
