Ready, Set Go! (Live, Riverside Studios ’03) is a recording of Bowie’s Sept. 8, 2003, interactive music satellite event. It took place at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London, and played in 86 theaters in 26 countries and featured a Q&A with Bowie.
The special one-off concert featured Bowie’s first-ever live performance of his then-new album Reality. The special one-off live concert was beamed via satellite Monday, September 8 from London’s Riverside Studios, simultaneously to 50,000 fans in 86 cinemas in 26 countries around the planet from Hong Kong to Helsinki. There were 14 screens in Paris alone dedicated to the show.
BOWIE thrilled fans across Europe with a spectacular, first-ever live performance of his brand new album REALITY, due September 16 on ISO/Columbia Records. The performance of the album was followed by precedent-setting interactive question and answer session between BOWIE and fans in cinemas in London, Paris, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels and Milan.
The event marked many firsts in technological terms: it was the biggest ever non-TV satellite broadcast, the first ever interactive cinema event and the first live satellite event in 5.1 DTS surround sound, which was overseen by longtime BOWIE collaborator, Tony Visconti. He performed the album in its entirety, and the new live release features the complete 11-song main set for the first time, along with bonus seven previously unreleased tracks.                                . 1. ABOUT LIVING ROOM SONGS:

Icelandic contemporary composer Ólafur Arnalds created and released a new song, one per day for one for one whole week during the month of October 2011. The songs were recorded and filmed live in the living room of his Reykjavik apartment and released instantly for free as streamed videos and mp3 downloads.

Following in the spirit of Ólafur Arnalds’ critically acclaimed Found Songs (2009) now comes Living Room Songs. This time Ólafur takes the idea further and invites the audience into the comfort of his living room, where the songs were recorded live and the whole process filmed. The songs were instantly released in form of a free mp3 download and video stream- straight from Ólafur's Reykjavik apartment.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: ‘One night I was just playing my piano here in this apartment and I was writing a new song and I didn't have my phone on me which I usually use to record ideas. So I actually took out my MacBook and I didn't want to open like a proper recording program, so I just opened Photo Booth and recorded a video of myself playing the song so that I would remember the song. And I really liked the atmosphere of that video and that's when I thought I should do a series of songs in my living room...’             – Ólafur Arnalds


Born in the suburban Icelandic town of Mosfellsbær, a few kilometers outside of Reykjavík, the 24-year old composer has always enjoyed pushing boundaries with both his studio work and his live-shows. Through relentless touring and determination this young artist has steadily gained recognition worldwide since his 2007 debut Eulogy for Evolution. Ólafur Arnalds’ second full-length album ...and they have escaped the weight of darkness, continues his mission to lure an indie-generation of pop and rock fans into an emotive world of beguiling electronic chamber music and delicate classical arrangements. Ólafur is currently touring with Ryuichi Sakamoto on his Trio Tour throughout Europe.

This was one of the sweetest nights of my life..so lucky to witness this LIVE + up close & personal only a few months ago. 

A once in a lifetime opportunity to catch a modern-day Mozart, a musical genius at the top of his game taking it right back to basics with only A Piano & Microphone.

This was magic for me from start to finish, during the whole show you could feel like you were in the presence of some kind of greatness, someone with the kind of talent handed down from gods.. or from another planet.

I honestly hadn't been this moved at a live show before and don't know if I will again. This changed the way I listen to music, It felt more like a spiritual experience, like being present at the Church of Al Green or witnessing soul and funk greats like Stevie, MJ, Marvin Gaye or James Brown at their prime.
I was buzzing for weeks after, & couldn't help but feel there was only a handful of other artists in the world would have been able to put on such an amazing performance and make it work so well.
