The 'Killaz' return with a huge remix package, courtesy of some of the hottest dance producers in clubland right now.

Hernan Cattaneo and Martin Garcia deliver an absolutely stomping 'Killa Breaks' remix, which is set to rock dance floors around the world.
Their '4/4' remix takes things in a similar direction, delivering everything and more (much more). 

Next up is the dynamic partnership of Luke Brancaccio and Gai Barone. These guys are on fire right now and their remix is no exception.
Luke informed us that they went back to the project several times - boy has that payed off. Its a monstrous remix, which twists and turns from start to finish.

Finally, we have the German maestro himself, Timo Maas. Timo has dropped a Techno bomb which is absolutely sublime. His nod to 'Twilo' in New York takes things in a more underground direction with a heavy groove, that really packs a punch!

Here at Selador HQ, we cherish subtlety and understatement. Not for us the endless pre-announcements of 'big things incoming', we prefer to leave the music to do the talking. However, sometimes even we feel the need to locate the nearest rooftop to shout from. A case in point being release No.145, where it's heavy hitting collaboration time. So, megaphone and klaxons at the ready, let's make some goddamn noise.

Step forward Anthony Pappa – 30+ years in the game for a DJ loved and celebrated by clubbers and fellow selectors worldwide. Pappa enjoys the closest of relationships with his loyal fans, and was one of the true stars of lockdown, with 50+ live streams racking up thousands and thousands of hits. Of course, pre-covid he was no less revered, a reputation as one of the best DJs in the business cemented by mixes for the likes of Global Underground and Balance.

Anthony's partner for this release is fellow son of Melbourne, Australia, Jamie Stevens who has been a giant of underground electronic music production for over two decades. Like Pappa, his talent is only matched by his humility. Initially rising to prominence with award-winning Oz electronica trio Infusion (Legacy, Girls Can Be Cruel) around the turn of the millenium, he's gone on to carve a solo discography overflowing with gems. In short, a tune with Jamie's name on it is pretty much guaranteed to go straight in the box.

And to complete the roll call, making a most welcome return to the label, remix duties are in the capable hands of Framewerk. Londoners Darren James and Alec Milliner are hot property following original productions and remixes for the likes of Bedrock, Renaissance and their own Capital Heaven imprint and a recent flurry of reinterpretations of all time classics that have breathed fresh life into an array of seminal tunes. For us, Framewerk are the current Kings of Breaks.

And just like that, our dynamic duo from Down Under return, the intrepid super heroes, Anthony Pappa & Jamie Stevens back for a Seladorian sequel, united in their cause against dance floor mediocrity, steadfastly defending the honour and spirit of Acid House.  

Their super powers of course are plain for all to see. With decades of experience under their collective belts, there’s not much they haven’t already achieved. But the never ending quest for the perfect beat still lights their fire, and we are always grateful to be the lucky custodians of the next chapter in their oeuvre. 

This EP is lead by’Like A Satellite’, a rocket fuelled epic that will light up the night sky, leaving glorious, intoxicating chemtrails in its wake. ‘Hold you Back’ then follows effortlessly in its slipstream, all groove ’n swagger shooting from the hip, straight from the heart. Mirrorball Sleaze anyone? 

And if all that was not enough to renew your faith in humanity, we’re also treated to the perfect subplot in the form of Luke Brancaccio & Gai Barone’s intergalactic re-rub of ‘Hold You Back’. A pulsating, hypnotic throbber from outer space.

Presenting their second release of the year, Phenomena welcomes label boss Elias Erium back for a new EP. After taking a two-year hiatus, the Canadian artist made a welcome return to the spotlight this year. Projects for Eleatics subsidiary Aletheia Recordings and long-standing Berlin powerhouse Steyoyoke set the stage for the March release of ‘Harvester'. Coming courtesy of Phenomena, the two-track showcase revealed a more hypnotic side of the Canadian’s repertoire, in turn garnering support from underground favourites Mind Against. Continuing on an upwards trajectory, Eilas now lands back on his comfortable home of Phenomena with ‘The Grove’. 

Elias’ capacity for storytelling resonates across the title selection 'The Grove’, as obsessive rhythms and hyperspace arps blanket warm punchy beats and monolithic grooves. The Montreal resident expounds his lavish future vision here, with prophetic drones and haunting pads providing a bridge into a desolate break. Clever co-actions and spirited synth phrasing makes for an intoxicating interlude, one which exudes a prophetic mood, before confidently returning to the groove for a heads down finale.

Continuing on a shadowy monochrome are the wintry qualities of 'Food for Thought'. Full of detail and idiosyncrasies, it's a cerebral voyage where the Canadian flexes his freethinking muscles, landing comfortably between soundscape science and groove-centric rhythms. The inevitable apex of this exploratory excursion mounts with shape-shifting layers and spiralling effects converging across an expansive break, achieving a thoughtful, austere timbre, before a melancholic lead sets the course for a cosmic conclusion. It rounds out an excellent EP from the Phenomena label boss, and preludes more good things to come as we approach the summer season.

So, we've got our latest showcase primed and ready to go and face a dilemma. We have no less than eight (count 'em) new tracks to tell you about, a stunning sonic smorgasbord that summarises all Selador holds dear. But with our collective attention spans allegedly getting shorter, our poor befuddled minds crushed between vapid soundbites and oppressive 'long reads' – how do we do them all justice in a press release that hits that 'perfect length' sweet spot? And of course, while we yak on, your time could be better spent listening to the aforementioned sonic smorgasbord.
