I'm still alive. Currently working on a larger release by the end of the year. I thought this Brian Eno cover was nice and just wanted to share it in its current state. (needs work still).
Hopefully Im not doing Eno an injustice here. Check out his stuff though if you're unfamiliar. Brilliant soul.

Becalmed

"The Fourth Turning" is the last stage in Strauss-Howe Generational Theory, a theory that says that periods of time repeat themselves in a circular fashion. The fourth and final turning is "chaos," and regularly leads to major wars or revolution and finally gives way to the first stage, which is a time of "peace".
We are currently in the fourth turning. This composition was written on the night of the capitol riots in the US.
This piece is meant to be played before or after "Fifth Turning," doesn't matter which... its circular.

This track is pretty much entirely computer-generated. The parameters were set by making all drums/notes (in G minor) have the potential to play every 16th beat, but setting the probability of that note/drum to actually play during a particular 16th division from somewhere between 1 and 20% probability.
All notes or drum hits during a given time are therefore random.

Movement 1 of a 5 movement piano-focused piece, titled "Rye." This movement is a ballet of sorts. The hands represent two individuals, at first hesitant and reluctant towards one another. This develops into loftier ideas and more interactions with one another, albeit with stumbles. Yet it doesn't go anywhere, and drift occurs and eventually a barrier forms. The movement ends with attempts to break this barrier by one character, but it is ineffective and the character is forced to accept the current state of affairs. That's at least simply how I see it, but you can see it however you want. If something different works for you, then that's what it is.

To me, this song is about the impossibility of freedom. Whether its desire, religion, emotions, addiction, or just the human condition and the inevitability of death, we are subjected to natural states of psychological and physiological confinement and restriction. Certain instrumentation reflects a sort of desire to break free from constraints, but maybe it does in the end.. maybe it doesn't. I'm not really sure.
