A 1978 60-second radio commercial with jingle for Prince George, BC's Doug Neal Motors.

Bill Reiter sings the dealership's jingle while Steve Olson provides the voice-over for the ad which was produced at 550 CKPG in 1978. 

CKPG Radio was Steve's second radio gig after CIOK in St. Paul, Alberta.  

Steve shared his memories of recording commercials at CKPG in the late '70s -

"The thing to remember about these spots is that they were directly recorded to the cart.

If you had a music bed, it would be recorded and edited on a mono reel-to-reel.  You would play the music bed and do the voice-over directly to the cart.  No multi-track and no ability to edit when done.  The levels were mixed while you were talking!  

Every voice-over was done as one take.  If there was a screw-up, the cart would be erased, and you would try again.

Suffice it to say that when you had multiple spots going to the same cart, it got really tense as you got to the second or third spot."

"Gentleman" Jim Jackson and the 5 O'clock Whistle Hour on Calgary's 1140 CISS AM from a Wednesday afternoon in late April 1991.

Dan Arthurs has a CISS "Sports Ticker" update.

"Commander Cody" (Noel Wallace) joined Jim with the "Eye in the Sky" traffic reports while Captain Kirk (Al Molnar) was away.

CISS Morning Crew host Kelly Latremouille had the ski report and Tony King reported the news.

Ronald T. Robinson provided the voice-over work on the CISS promos.
