Dale narrates the demo with short clips of meteorologist "no rain" Blane Coulcher, sportscaster Ken "the Dobber" Dobson, Joe Easingwood, Ed McKenzie, Alan Perry and Drew Snider.

660 CFFR Calgary also used the hourly news intro.

A 1978 60-second radio commercial with jingle for Prince George, BC's Doug Neal Motors.

Bill Reiter sings the dealership's jingle while Steve Olson provides the voice-over for the ad which was produced at 550 CKPG in 1978. 

CKPG Radio was Steve's second radio gig after CIOK in St. Paul, Alberta.  

Steve shared his memories of recording commercials at CKPG in the late '70s -

"The thing to remember about these spots is that they were directly recorded to the cart.

If you had a music bed, it would be recorded and edited on a mono reel-to-reel.  You would play the music bed and do the voice-over directly to the cart.  No multi-track and no ability to edit when done.  The levels were mixed while you were talking!  

Every voice-over was done as one take.  If there was a screw-up, the cart would be erased, and you would try again.

Suffice it to say that when you had multiple spots going to the same cart, it got really tense as you got to the second or third spot."

Marianna shared her memories and reasons for keeping a copy of the commercial when she worked as a copywriter at Radio NL in Kamloops, BC.

"I didn't write the spot for the Aerosmith show, I made a copy because I just loved the announcer's voice, and the great concert spots of the late 70s!  A harbinger of my radio future to come: working at a rock station! ;)"

"Commander Cody" (Noel Wallace) joined Jim with the "Eye in the Sky" traffic reports while Captain Kirk (Al Molnar) was away.

CISS Morning Crew host Kelly Latremouille had the ski report and Tony King reported the news.

Ronald T. Robinson provided the voice-over work on the CISS promos.

Before there was Earl's there was Fuller's Family Restaurants.  Here's a February 1974 radio ad with CFAC Radio's Ned Corrigall providing the tag.

Is that the Laurie Bower Singers on the jingle?

Complete meals for 49 cents on the children's menu! Fuller's kids celebration was a great deal back then.

I think Denny's is now at the former Fuller's Macleod Trail location in Calgary.

A couple of mid-'80s cuts for 1090 CHEC Lethbridge, from its "Where Winners Listen & Listeners Win . . ." days produced by Edmonton's Goede Creative Productions (aka Airworks, Goede Studio and Machine Shop Studio). 

The first is a contest bed and the second is a jingle for Boyd Leader's "Boyd & the Breakfast Bunch" morning show.  Boyd would also be known on-air as "Rhubarb Jones" on CKRC Winnipeg and Power 92 FM Edmonton.

"Rhubarb Jones" was a name the late Arnie Celsie gave him while Boyd was at CKRC Winnipeg at the same time as long-time Winnipeg broadcaster Boyd Kozak.

"Boyd & the Breakfast Bunch" Goede Creative Productions 1090 CHEC Lethbridge

Vancouver based Super Valu stores used this jingle from the mid 1960's through the early 1970's. It made the girl at checkout #3 the most well known employee in each store.

Robin and Maynard on Seattle's X, 96.5 KXRX from April 1988.  Roy Otis makes an appearance as a seed salesman. 

Robin Erickson and John Maynard were also heard on Seattle's KQBZ (now KKWF) in its Buzz FM days, KISW and KZOK over the years.

They ended their run, of over 20 years, on Seattle radio in December 2005.
