A new signee to @infinite-machine, @bonebrokk’s 'The Astral Catalyst' EP marks his first official release for the Athens-based producer outside of his @trialanderrorsound imprint. Influenced by late capitalism and sci-fi dystopias, across two productions Bonebrokk deftly showcases his ‘ExoPunk’ sound; a retrofuturist mix of broken beats from the continuum blended with meticulous, future-facing sound design. 

Long-standing IM alumni @galtier as well as techno giant Surgeon round off the release with two blistering remixes of Bonebrokk’s originals. Galtier reworks 'Hyperparadox' by stripping back some of the layers of samples but ramping up the tension with the elements he leaves in the mix.

Mirror Chamber is, alike other tracks on the 'Thoughts on Manifolds', an audible statement of an otherworldly architecture - a mind's outlook into one of many futures shaped by Blank Wall Season. On this track the Turkish composer & sound editor Kaan Işık teams up with forces (Infinite Machine, Failed Units), sharpening the edges to the glass shards of the chamber. 

Label statement: "Thoughts on Manifolds (GEN050) by Blank Wall Season is a feather light, mixed-material showroom of synthetic objects, constantly rolling, constricting, zooming, bubbling, evoking some vast space. Impossibly thin, transparent foil, crisp, ice cold fluids, metal on rubber impacts etching elaborate diagrams and schemes into ambiguous, lush techno-reminiscent chords. The sound arrangement here is akin to a granular breeze, like an alien meteorology, a particle simulation turning into a textural primordial soup. Constantly in acceleration or deceleration, the listener knows every vast saturated pad is seconds away from the rush of a blast-off, almost intolerable G-forces, images flashing in front of one's eyes, bullet-like hard pans. These operations are like a valve being turned, the sudden pressure release causing a stream of some noble gas being set free, or opening a shutter suddenly providing a flicker of light highlighting the contours of some cavernous lost zone.

Premiere: Blank Wall Season - Mirror Chamber (with forces)[Genot Centre]

We premiere music from Torino-based artist Ninja Exotic Machine as the duo debuts Early Reflex for their 14th release. We feature ‘Apple Brucho’ an intricate piece of deconstructed hard-drum heaven.

The Italian experimental duo of Ninja Exotic Machine debuted on Early Reflex with their ‘Red Ant’ EP. The Pho Bho Records affiliates Matteo Confetti and Kakofonico showcase their deep love for off-kilter rhythms and cinematic style soundscapes on this one.

‘Red Ant’ was created in a slightly different mindset as the production process was based around the soundtrack for a visionary videogame. It blends various influences from riddim and dancehall which have been rearranged into a weirder and more unearthly manner through syncopated rhythms, stretched vocals, and deep basslines – bringing the definitive Ninja-Exotic-Machine-touch to this idiosyncratic project.

We premiere Apple Brucho – a forward-facing take on tribal rhythms, fusing glitchy IDM crackles and swells with syncopated drum grooves. Low and punchy kick-drum are on display here as they set the scene for a leftfield look into classic tribal club music. The duo jerk up the BPM on this one and create a wall of sound, surrounded by a plethora of jungle-inspired rhythmic sounds. The rainforest meets space travel here.

[Premiere] Leese - Shell (out on CRTTR)

Following the release of their joint EP, 'Accela', on Hyperdub, the Uruguay-born, Ireland-based producer Lila Tirando a Violeta teams up once again with Berlin’s Sin Maldita for a special back-to-back mix.

Here, they showcase their versatility as artists, diving into their SoundCloud likes for a joyride through different moods. The first half is built for the dancefloor; the beginning drenched in the drama and soft urgency of a dopamine-soaring trance cut. The second half features the sublime sonics of Lee Gamble and sparkling, romantic ambience layered with dialogue from James Mangold’s 'Walk the Line'. A perfect, post-Valentine's mood.
