This week, we invited Berlin based Nona. Electronic dance music, especially techno, captivated him for several reasons. First of all, it creates an atmosphere over a longer period of time. Next to that, the DJ is able to tell stories which influence the dance floor through interaction between each other and the DJ; a very unique musical, mental and physical experience on both sides. Also, coming together in mystical party-time utopias and dancing - a great passion of his - might even be the reason for him to start selecting and mixing tracks.

Nona’s focus has always been on high tempo. This mix features galloping bass lines, precise drum elements and a hypnotizing, energetic and functional sound.

Besides his solo project as Nona, he is also part of re:flect (@re.flect), a multidisciplinary music and art collective based in Berlin. Keep an eye on that one as well!

Playing different instruments in his youth gave him a musical knowledge that he can now use very well in his field of electronic music. He is able to play different types of techno, from deep polyrhythmic records to fast & sharp techno. That's what's important to him: taking the dancer on a journey, no matter what the sound or  playtime. 

He has proven his passion for DJing in various clubs over the past few years so we are happy to have him on board.

Lars Klein

Lars Klein has an unmistakable sound that annihilated the late 90's & 2000's
Ask anyone that used his tracks, or any label that signed his tracks. He delivered pure Peak Hour Material. Not only was his production sound undeniably raw and honest, but his DJing style was vicious and in demand. When he composed the One Family Thing Album along with Michael Burkat, you could tell they saw the writing on the wall with the commercial appeal coming to the scene and integrity possibly fleeting out the door. While it was a fresh album. It was a prophecy of sorts. Lars is a solid guy and has provided us with an all-vinyl set recorded live.


Biography:
Lars Klein, born Dortmund (in the huge industrial Ruhr area), became infected with electronic music when he first listened to the vinyls of Jean-Michel Jarre. In the Mid-80s, he got in touch with House music and it were labels such as "DJ International" and "Trax" who left their deepest traces with their impelling and propulsive electronic sounds without any vocal knick-kack whatsoever. Equipped with turntables and a tape deck, he began to produce a series of amateur mix tapes which his friends and mates received with much enthusiasm. In the early 90s, he had his first DJ bookings which marked that Lars was set for his musical career. In 1994 he had assembled his first studio equipment, and he immediately began to work hard at developing his production skills. In December 1995, a breakthrough in his Djing was achieved when Lars was booked for an extensive DJ Tour in Lithuania and throughout Germany. In 1999, Lars started working for an important record store in Dortmund, which strengthened his already existing contact with the former A&R of Fine Audio Recordings and Compressed Records. This contact lead to his first official 12" vinyl on Compressed Rec. which was released in September 1999. Further releases on FINE AUDIO and other labels such as BOUND and COMPRESSED were soon to follow. Now Lars is a much requested DJ worldwide.

Wetworks was discovered in the mid-2000s by Glenn Wilson, who released Wetworks' first vinyl release on The Infamous Punish Label. Glenn, Staffan Ehrlin, and Dean Rodell, originally heroes and influences, became mentors and friends. Each encouraged Wetworks to be unique and stay true to his vision.
As a result, Wetworks has released tracks on respected labels such as GND, Geushky, Compound, Mastertraxx, Player, Dolma, and many more.
Wetworks tracks are percussive, warehouse, and dancefloor-ready and cultivated with music theory.
2019 marked the return of Wetworks to the harder side of techno, which allowed him to merge his known approach to funky and percussive techno. It allowed a newer approach to Faster, Brutal, Hard Techno, still keen on Music Theory and rhythmic practice, with a dash of esoteric overtone.
Wetworks is proudly part of the Chicago Jaxxx & Mastoid Kollektive family as the A&R and Creative Director. He helped spearhead and curate The P.I.N.K. (Pain Is No Kompanion) Compilation/Fundraiser for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which is now a yearly endeavor. Formerly the co-owner of the Armatura/Clandestine Recordings record label, Wetworks is the owner/curator for The Peak Hour Experience Podcast, which boasts sets by Paul Mac, Ryuji Takeuchi, Dean Rodell, Mike Humphries, Uncertain, and many more which returned in 2023.
