Charles Hawthorne (They/Them)

Charles Hawthorne (they/them) is a Black queer DJ based in Oakland, CA. Hot track selection and divinatory crowd reading have made Charles Hawthorne a force behind the decks and in the nightlife community. Their unique blend of disco, house, club, and RnB ushers a journey through the history and movement of Black queer dance music. Charles believes you can’t trust a DJ who doesn’t dance. The proof is in the pudding, honey! 
Charles is the creator of @FiveFinger.Disco, a celebration of the disco diva. They are also a resident of Rollin with the Homos (@RollinHomos) and a board member for @oaklash2024

"I wanted to play with blending more "big room" house sounds with the soulful house, disco, Afrohouse, and Latin grooves that I really enjoy. This mix has lots of vocals and instruments with long blends and a lot of juicy bass running through the core! I also have a new track by me & xxveneco, along with some of my favs from friends and mentors. I really wanted to make y'all ~feel~ something with this mix, so I hope you groove to it!"
