My opening set at @body-language-berlin at a secret location rave was such an honor, pleasure and joy to perform. 
It felt like a real rave, off location, last minute changes due to venue eviction of the previous location, community hands on effort and pure passion on the dance floor. 

Even though playing main slots can be more fun in terms of energy I personally also love to open a night. Set the tone. Welcome people into a space that we will share for the next hours, individual goals yet one thing that unifies us: The joy of music and community to build strength, hope and resistance.

Shout out to @stella-zekri-ouiddir, @cami_lutz and Caitlin for holding it down and pushing through to pull of this amazing night.

DJ Börek is a Berlin-based music lover, with roots in Istanbul. Her vinyl-only high NRG sets are inspired by a diverse range of electronic music from hip-house to Miami bass to UK garage, keeping the dance floor busy at all times. She gets inspired by DJs like Sally C, Octa Octa, and Eris Drew, as well as digging through Berlin’s record stores and finding old house gems. This mix is based on her club debut back in March, where she got to play the opening set and warm up the crowd with bouncy beats.

What a Playground is a platform run by @lenabrecht aiming to feature emerging artists who share her passion for various facets of House music. A space of warm tunes, soft vibes, energetic melodies and new encounters. 

What a Playground aims to create an open and safer space for especially FLINTA* and BIPoC artists, encouraging them to play first sets to an appreciative, curious and diverse crowd. Curating DIY gatherings since summer 2022, the format is not only about creating pleasure and joy, but also about caring for each other. During each gathering we invite everybody to support a trusted organization whose work helps underrepresented people.

Here on SoundCloud sets from our community will be shared. Furthermore, this accounts aims to push the visibility of FLINTA* and BIPoC producers/artists.
