"What Came First" is a new label dedicated to Electronic music which has been set up by the people behind Egg London club venue.

With the dance floor in mind, WCF aims to introduce rising new talents as well as working with established artists across a range of musical genres from techno to house and chill-out to alternative. 

It is a great time for Egg London to look how far we have come musically over the years and for the label artists, inspired by the unique energy of the club, to synthetize this vibe into their productions and music that we all can enjoy.

The Willers Brothers hit Egg London’s What Came First label next week (Friday 26th May), with their four-track ‘Shimmy Shimmy EP’. We’ve got the exclusive play of its title track above.

On ‘Shimmy Shimmy’, the Egg residents – who have previously seen release through Beste Modus, No Fit State and Nordik – present a stripped-back tech-house groover that pushes percussion to the fore.

Speaking about the track, Liam Willers told DJ Mag, “We’re happy to be releasing this on Egg’s label after holding down a residency at the club for the past few years.”

Premiere: NEUMANN - Coaster (Kyle E Remix) [What Came First]

Our latest release on what Came First has been produced by Italy's newest export, Knowhat, who has delivered two original works blended with shades of uplifting house and tech house rhythms.

The original track 'Feel it' is a high-spirited, house-infused creation with soulful vocals and punchy drums, showcasing the artist's ability to shy away from the driving tech house sound he's usually known for.

'Make My Body Groove' is a sultry, alluring piece with infectious, groove-tinged percussion. Suitable to captivate any dancefloor worth its salt from the beginning to end.

Frankfurt based producer Basti Grub is also featured on the EP, re-working the title track. Having touched it down with a minimal techno bass-line, Grub has artfully kept the male vocal hook rolling throughout the mix.

Egg LDN resident Kyle E delivers another WCF release, 'Wavetable', including a remix from an old friend of the club, Guido Schneider.

'Wavetable' opens the three track EP, a combination of ethereal synths and
undulating baselines form the basis of this melodic production before an unusual hook adds another dimension to the track. An oscillating filter peters in and out, adding a summery feel to this mesmerizing production, instantly taking the track up a notch to an almost spiritual rhythm.

'You Called' is a blend of dreamy synth work and tight drums. With a twist of
melancholia, it's on par for a set of a certain style - think outdoors, beneath the sunshine - with a slow-burning pace that still manages to captivate the listener from the get-go.

Guido's Schneider's remix of 'Wavetable' is also featured on the EP; a solid 90s influenced mix that's suitable to warm up a chilled out dancefloor. A more
upbeat take on Kyle's original mix, it's the perfect finish to a pulsating EP from the London based producer.
