Just over a year has passed since the release of Kellerkind’s ‘Music is a Miracle’ album: now the Swiss talent finally delivers a new EP in the form of ‘Move Me’, which showcases how his sound has evolved. The title track is an atmospheric affair drawing you in with garage percussion, deep horns and icy synths, while the vocals add a layer of detachment. ‘Believe in You’ nods to classic Kellerkind by way of a disco groove – a neo-trance lead adds an extra twist however. Next up, Joachim Pastor turns ‘Move Me’ into a tour de force of musical wizardry, while Jiggler gets locked deep in the groove.

The EP "Trapped in Time", released by the Berlin label WHATIPLAY is the first result of a cooperation between Marian Herzog and Modshape. Berlin-based like Marian Herzog, the DJ duo produces deep techno. The collaboration however, is a mix of powerful technobeats and playful melodies. The orginals "Trapped in Time" and "Keepsake" are already enticing musical works, while the "Trapped in Time" remix from label boss Sascha Braemer unites them into a wonderful release.

Die EP „Trapped in Time" ist das erste Ergebnis der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Marian Herzog und Modshape. und gleichzeitig auch das erste Release dieser Collaboration auf dem Berliner Label WHATIPLAY. Das ebenso wie Marian Herzog in Berlin ansässige DJ Duo Modshape. fokussiert sich in seinen eigenen Produktionen auf Deep Techno und kombiniert in der hier vorliegenden Zusammenarbeit mit Marian Herzog gerade und kraftvolle Technobeats mit verspielten Melodien. “Trapped in Time” und “Keepsake” gehen bereits in den Originalversionen ordentlich steil und werden mit dem großartigen Remix von “Trapped in Time” von Labelchef Sascha Braemer persönlich zu einem wundervollen Release vereint.

Eine warme Wunderwelt, so bezeichnet @get-physical-music und @poesiemusik das neue Release von @fynnofficial – „Infinite Reflections“. Der Berliner Produzent greift für das Original auf einen dicken Groove zurück und setz zeitgleich auf schwerfällige Kicks und ein warmes Ambiente. Die Synths steigen und steigen, um die Geschichte dieser Deep-House-Nummer zu erzählen. Neben dem Original umfasst das Release drei Remixe, die von @peer-kusiv, @philippwolf-music und @jonas-woehl produziert wurden. „Ich fing einfach an, mit den Samples des Originales zu spielen und schnell entstand ein eigener Groove, in dem dann das eine zum anderen führte“, erzählt der letztgenannte Woehl. Der Dresdner ist an die Sache ganz unvoreingenommen herangegangen: „Ich wollte zu dem Original, das eher einen Songcharakter hat, eine düsterere Version basteln, die trotzdem den Vocal in den Vordergrund stellt.“ (...)

Very cool news: Sascha Braemer has a new music label!
Don’t look further; you will finally get online what almost everyone who’s been at one of his sets has been looking for - his playlists. From now on you can buy all the releases from WHATIPLAY, the well-named label. You really can’t deny Sascha’s fantastic music taste – that’s why it just makes totally sense that all what this guy likes appears under one unique brand. WHATIPLAY was born when Sascha and his body and business partner Ralph Behringer joined forces. These two kept meeting like-minded people who love doing music – WHATIPLAY will give these folks a new platform to do just that. Plus, Sascha is a real open-minded guy who doesn’t believe music can be put in boxes; so WHATIPLAY won’t revolve around just one music genre. “Music is a matter of taste, that’s very personal” says Sascha. The new label will also offer a real friendly environment for music fans of all sorts who will be able to get in touch with one another – because here’s another of Sascha’s mantras: Together is way better than against each other. Just think of all his collaborations with the like of Niconé, Philip Bader or his duo with Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner… Anyway – what Sascha Braemer does, he does it properly. And rest assured, with WHATIPLAY some of your favorite artists will also be releasing; just wait and see, the Master won’t tell more. Eine sehr gute Nachricht: Sascha Braemer gründet ein neues Label!
Damit erledigt sich wenigstens zum einen Teil die Suche im Netz nach seinen Playlists, auf die sich wohl schon fast jeder, der Zeuge eines seiner DJ-Sets war, schon mal begeben hat. Ab jetzt kauft man sie einfach die Releases des Labels, das heißt dann auch sehr treffend: WHATIPLAY. Die außerordentliche Geschmackssicherheit von Sascha ist unbestritten, von daher ist es komplett schlüssig, dass das, was der Mann mag, mal unter einem Dach erscheint.
Die Idee zu WHATIPLAY kam Sascha zusammen mit seinem Kumpel und Kollegen Ralph Behringer. Die beiden lernten immer wieder aufs Neue Leute kennen, die aus einer ähnlichen Geisteshaltung heraus Musik erschaffen, und genau diesen Leuten soll WHATIPLAY nun eine Plattform bieten. Und da Sascha selbst ein sehr offenes Kerlchen ist und wenig von musikalischem Schubladendenken hält, soll WHATIPLAY auch kein genrespezifisches Label werden. „Musik bleibt Geschmackssache und individuell“, so Sascha.
