For this next release, Life and Death brings Dutch techno hero Steve Rachmad into the fold for a little fable of consumerism gone sideways. 

In a shopping mall of singing machines a revolution is brewing. Where instead of you going shopping for them, the machines slowly rise up, collect themselves together and decide to go shopping for you. In Parallel Shopping we can hear the sounds of the machines organizing themselves out of their slumber as they slowly begin their bizarre free market march to gather their forces and prepare to stock up on you. 

Flipping over to the next side the story continues with Out In The Open (edit). Their plans having been revealed to the masses, the machines have no other option but to launch a full scale attack. Under the cover of night the machines rally their forces as soft synths sing their rhetoric into the night while the crash of metal and booming basses foreshadow the likely winner of this sortie..

Berlin-Cologne based duo Atlantik is well known for incredible ravish live sets. People go ballistic! Clemens and Georg played their set more than three years ago on one of the Feines Tier parties and everybody instantly felt in love with it. 
Atlantik has got a residency at the world famous Sisyphos Berlin where they set up their impressing analog machine park on a regular basis. 
The Snö EP contains two original tracks plus a crispy remix by Feines Tier friend Schlepp Geist.

Bekannt ist das Produzenten-Gespann @atlantik für seine in guter Erinnerung bleibenden Live-Sets, bei mir war es ihr Auftritt beim Fusion Festival vor nun vier Jahren. Doch auch ihre Releases können sich hören lassen. Bislang veröffentlichten Clemens und Georg, die in Berlin und Köln zu Hause sind, auf Labels wie Sisyphon, Areal Records, Keller Label, Acker Dub oder Lenient Tales. Ihre nächste Publikation soll nun auf der Kölner Plattform @feinestier erscheinen: „Snö“. „Wir wissen nicht mehr genau, wie der Bezug zu Skandinavien entstanden ist, aber es hat mit der Weite des Landes zu tun und der Kälte im Winter." (...) Ein knackiger Remix kommt von @schleppgeist.

Exclusive Premiere: Alec Troniq - Soundstorm - Say What? Recordings

This And That Lab is the label project of Davide Squillace and the new release is a deep and techy journey with a mysterious atmosphere, and stripped back, melodic grooves.

Following releases that have featured the likes of Matthias Tanzmann, NiCe7, Nicone, Anja Schneider and Butch, the new release on This And That is from Matteo Spedicati who produced at AMAM Studios.

Italian artist Matteo Spedicati comes fresh from his recent EP on Hot Creations, and has also released on other imprints such as Amam, plus Great Stuff Recordings. Along with his solo productions, he has also collaborated with many great artists including Alessio Mereu, Joseph Capriati and Mendo.

The release also features a remix from Brazilian artist Althoff, who is returning to This And That following a recent label debut earlier in the year. He has also featured music on Rancido Music, Plano B Records, Appetite Records and MoonShake Records.

“Prelude To A Makeout” opens with pulsating bass notes that rise into a hypnotic lead sound as the filter lifts to expose the notes beneath. Rippling with bubbling modulation, the acid-tinged track is an uplifting cut of stripped back tech house that at times overlaps into deep techno territory.

“Olvidar Eliza” is second of the two originals on the EP that uses broken rhythms and mystique to set the scene from the very first beat. With trippy sound design and slow building eloquence, the delicate sonic textures weave a psychedelic tapestry around the deep and melodic house groove.

Finishing off the release is Althoff’s remix of "Olvidar Eliza", which has a more rigid four to the floor kick rhythm, and an uptempo groove in comparison to the original. It also exposes the guitar sample and makes it a more prominent feature apposed to an atmospheric texture. Still hauntingly mesmerising, this version provides a refined rework drawing focus on DJ friendly elements.
