I've known these guys for a long ass time… I met Mando (Armando Cosio Sr.) when he was an exterminator at the projects where I lived in Boyle Heights. I found out he did comedy on the side. We became friends. He now owns his own exterminating business (La Cucaracha Pest Control) in Los Angeles and still does comedy on the side. He's funny! He and I used to tour with Gabriel Iglesias (Fluffy) for a while too. He has his son "Pops" (Armando Cosio Jr.) working for him in the office and eventually hired my friend Rodrigo Torres to work for him as an exterminator while Rodrigo is touring with me on the side AND going to law school. 

They have a long history with me, a lot of stories and a lot of jokes. We'll probably have Mando back again soon since we have so much history together, but sit back and listen to this first one.

The son of Haitian immigrants, he grew up in Southern California and he's one of a few black comics who has never shied away from doing all the comedy rooms in L.A. - black, white, Latino - and it shows in his comedy. He's now traveling the world, sometimes opening for his good friend Russell Peters and the rest of the time, headlining on his own.

This is the man who literally saved my life and set me on the right track - the path that would eventually lead me to become a comedian. Father Greg Boyle took a gun out of my hand and put me in rehab long before he created the infamous Homeboy Industries - an organization that helps turn former gang members' lives around by giving them jobs, training and a purpose. Before that it was Jobs for the Future, and even before that, he was just a man with a mission to help local kids stop dying at the hands of other local kids. We only scratched the surface today, but know that if it wasn't for this man, I probably wouldn't be here today.

Met this guy Martin Rizo a few years ago as a young, naive comic who started out sleeping on his mom's couch and making goofy internet videos - some of which went viral. He's still making those videos but he's graduated to his own apartment now... I think... he's also grown as a stand-up comedian and has even done a few commercials on the side to pay the bills. This might be one of our funniest episodes so far.

As a teenager, Little Willie G headed up an East L.A. band referred to as "the Chicano Beatles". Thee Midniters' sound defined Chicano rock music and Chicano culture throughout the 60s and beyond. Willie would fall prey to the dark side of the music industry and develop a problem with drugs and alcohol. His testimony and music was one of the only cassettes we had in my rehab and I really got into his music. Today, Willie has overcome all of those problems through a relationship with God, started a ministry and continues to perform all over the country.
