To start 2023, my brother and lifelong friend Howard Price joins me on the show. Howard is otherworldly in his endurance pursuits having run some of the most grueling and intense endurance races in the country, sometimes on with aliments that mere mortals wouldn't attempt to face.  Howard's premise is that having the right mindset will take your further than you think you can.  

One of the greatest pieces of our conversation is a story that Howard tells about a woman in a wheelchair who sat on the side of the road supporting racers during the intense Chattanooga Ironman.  From a distance, Howard kept hearing a distinct statement from her "It's a privilege to be here".  This was her revolution! She was giving her time, treasure, and talent to support the people who were doing something that she couldn't.  We all have a talent, a revolution that we can give to the world. It is our mindset that allows us to make choices that will either lead us to be revolutionary or that will allow us to remain ordinary.

Brookings Fellow, Dr. Andre Perry, joins me on the podcast to discuss his new book, "Know Your Price". The book is a wonderful autobiography of Dr. Dre wrapped in a narrative around how America's housing policies have handcuffed a majority of people of color from maximizing their wealth.  Think about this,  156 billion dollars of lost revenue because of redlining. Let that sink in for second.  Dr. Dre also opens up about his struggles as young man and how he took those knocks and turned them into an unshakeable resolve to be better.  He doesn't attack people anymore, he attacks ideas. That alone is a revolution!  If anyone knows Dre, when he walks into a room his confidence is palpable yet infectious.  We end our conversation talking about how to make the most of a crisis. Dre is a master of this.  His first book made him a King in the New Orleans Education Space.  His latest literature expedition has him well on his way to this same status in a much bigger pond. 100 shows seems to be a sign of longevity.  Well if that is the case, then by those standards, we are doing alright.  I have been trying to decide who I would interview for the special episode. I grew up with Max, Jason, and Jarvis.  They are my play "cousins", but they are more like family than I know.  Who knew that we would grow up to make moves on so many levels.  Jason and Jarvis are both very accomplished actors and the "Brain", Max continues to set the bar in tech.   

This conversation is a mix of intellect and family sitting at the table jonning about the mischief we got into as children.
