In one of my favorites episodes, Brandon Anderson, founder of Raheem AI, drops by the show to discuss his powerful story of loss and redemption.  Brandon's partner was killed by police, a heartbreaking end to a beautiful love affair.  However, Brandon has been able to use this fuel his revolution.  Raheem AI is a crowdsourcing tool that helps community members chronicle their interactions with police.  As Natalie Burke says, Big Data will show us the way.  Brandon hopes his platform can shift policy initiatives that can ensure police and communities can work together to thrive.  This show is riveting.  A must listen.  At one point, I had my hand over my heart because I could feel the brotha's story.

Brookings Fellow, Dr. Andre Perry, joins me on the podcast to discuss his new book, "Know Your Price". The book is a wonderful autobiography of Dr. Dre wrapped in a narrative around how America's housing policies have handcuffed a majority of people of color from maximizing their wealth.  Think about this,  156 billion dollars of lost revenue because of redlining. Let that sink in for second.  Dr. Dre also opens up about his struggles as young man and how he took those knocks and turned them into an unshakeable resolve to be better.  He doesn't attack people anymore, he attacks ideas. That alone is a revolution!  If anyone knows Dre, when he walks into a room his confidence is palpable yet infectious.  We end our conversation talking about how to make the most of a crisis. Dre is a master of this.  His first book made him a King in the New Orleans Education Space.  His latest literature expedition has him well on his way to this same status in a much bigger pond. 100 shows seems to be a sign of longevity.  Well if that is the case, then by those standards, we are doing alright.  I have been trying to decide who I would interview for the special episode.  I realized it had to be my friend, Phil Echols, soon to be Dr. Phil Echols.  Phil is the creator the "Become Better" movement. In today's world, family and community mean everything. It is one of those aspects that can propel us to greatness and stardom.  That is the case with this group of stellar men.  I grew up with Max, Jason, and Jarvis.  They are my play "cousins", but they are more like family than I know.  Who knew that we would grow up to make moves on so many levels.  Jason and Jarvis are both very accomplished actors and the "Brain", Max continues to set the bar in tech.   

This conversation is a mix of intellect and family sitting at the table jonning about the mischief we got into as children.  It is fun, enlightening, and a wonderful reward to understand how each of their revolutions is shifting the landscapes for generations to come.
