Began as an exercise but I think it's worked out reasonably OK (represents progress for me anyway). It's quite long (sorry) - I tried to shorten it but couldn't really. Also tagging as classical may be pushing it a bit but is probably closest - or maybe should be soundtrack? Don't know.

Trey W, known by his moniker Church of the Undecided (COtu), is a multifaceted instrumentalist, musician, and producer with roots tracing back to grade school. His journey began as a percussionist, which laid a strong foundation for his diverse musical explorations.

Now focused on electronic music production (without the aid of AI), COtu thrives on the boundless possibilities of sound. Combining synthesizers, a drum kit, and unconventional instruments, he creates a distinctive sonic palette that seamlessly blends electronic elements with organic textures. The result is a rich, immersive musical experience that captivates and engages squirrels and centipedes.

I've been making music since 1972. At the time, with Pedro Castro, we created the alternative rock band Petrus Castrus. 

The music I'm placing here is mostly from the home recordings of my ongoing projects and ideas. I created a few playlists (Inéditos) according to language:

We are both amateur musicians, i.e. music lovers. As for me, I'm just an electrical engineer with a master in AI that really loves creating music and use it to share ideas. That is why all tracks include lyrics or texts.

By the way I'm not interested in third-party offers to boost the number of plays. I like it as it is, and I've always declined such offers. Thanks anyway. 

I don't repost much, just some tracks that I find outstanding and with very few plays, so I can help them to get better known. I believe that repost parsimony also makes life easier for those who follow me.

*** UPDATE May 2025. Good news. The SC contractual terms have now been corrected, and our music will no longer be used for AI training. NOTE April 2025: It just came to my attention that, unless we do a separate contract, all our uploaded music in SC can be freely used for AI training. This is written down in the legal section, under the licensing paragraphs. What can (should) we do to change that? *** 

*** Note Dec 2024: Alas, AI generated content that is not disclosed as such is now being posted at an alarming rate, sometimes multiple tracks in a single day from fake artists that even write down fake introductions, saying how much they love music that comes from the heart. Please avoid reposting these deceptions, it only adds to the confusion.  And it encourages the algorithms to give them preference. ***

*** NOTE June 2024: Generative AI is becoming amazingly powerful. Nothing against it. Just to avoid the confusion and embarrassment of finding ourselves praising and encouraging mindless algorithms, I believe it would be nice for us to always disclose its usage in our tracks. What do you think?  ***

(1) I do not want to win at soundcloud
(2) I respect people who listen by trying to do work that is as good as I can make it but I may attempt (and possibly fail badly at) different kinds of music so you will probably find some of my tracks suck quite badly even if you like others
(3) If I follow you please feel no obligation to follow me back or to listen to my tracks because I know different people like different things
(4) If you follow me please don’t expect me automatically to follow you back because as I said different people like different things. I try to listen to most new uploads of the people I do follow, so there are only so many people I can meaningfully follow (and only so many reposts I can cope with) at any one time before it all gets a bit overwhelming
(5) If I add a track of yours to my likes that means I particularly like it and if I comment on a track that means I really did want to communicate something. I do not do these things expecting or wanting anything in return or fishing for listeners/followers etc.
(6) Soundcloud (still) can be wonderful and has wonderful people in its universe but some aspects of it do my head in and so I am putting this out here so everyone knows where I am coming from. This is not intended as criticism of anyone else, it is just what works for me
