Release Info: 
Astral Records rounds out the month of May by welcoming Chris Schweizer to the label for his debut EP. Since his emergence in 2009, American producer Chris Schweizer has developed into one of trance music's most recognized artists. Armin Van Burren's Armada imprint would be the primary vehicle for Chris' energetic, club-effective and highly emotive sound. The Dutch imprint would play host to the Miami resident's production prowess in excess of one hundred times, with Black Hole, Coldharbour and Perfecto also being landing spots along the way. 2023 proved to be a pivotal year in Chris' evolution as an artist, with a shift in sound marked by a release via Paul Thomas' UV Noir, one where Chris would explore the slower tempo's and metallic melodies of melodic house and techno. Now, continuing on this explorative path, Chris unveils his first project of 2024 with his Astral Records debut 'Flashback'. 'Flashback' leads the release off in grand fashion and only furthers Chris' journey into the darker depths of melodic techno. Strong kick drums and a bed of crunchy rhythms provide the anchor for layers of flickering percussion and shapeshifting arps. Cruising with a commanding presence, there's a strong sense of flow across the first act, as striking chord stabs and a chant-like vocal sample not only add depth and character, but a tension filled rise leading into a seismic break, one where pyrotechnic synths and mutated vocals converge for an epic segue into a thunderous finale. Beneath the colossal sounds of 'Flashback' lies the equally impressive 'Odyssey'. Continuing the main room assault, Chris' pristine production chops serve him well here, bursting with ultrasonic qualities and a keen sense of drama and tension. In what is an energy rush for the ages, it's a rollercoaster of anthemic chord stabs and deconstructed vocals which provide a prophetic storyboard, while a foundation of titanic kick drums and rippling grooves keep the focus firmly on a peak time dancefloor.

Now they celebrate their return to Toy Tonics with an outstanding EP full of timeless, contemporary house music that also marks their 10th contribution to the label after their first release on the imprint 10 years ago. Have you ever come across a track that stayed with you for days? It doesn't happen often, but after receiving the fantastic demo of Malive, Gogoia, Morgado, and Gabriel Paes, we found ourselves humming the lyrics of Quintal quite a few times. 

When Adam Port played it on The Lot Radio, our love for the track grew even more. We've been playing and listening to it on many dancefloors in the past months, and we knew it was time to release it out into the wild. 

The only thing missing from this release was an amazing remix, which we got from Emanuel Satie and Tim Engelhardt. Their trademark groovy touch makes the song suitable for any time of day or night. 

This release is not to be missed!

It is the end of a long and dusty road for compilation series, The Wild Army, with Volume 8 the final instalment. Victory can be claimed over, err, something (mediocre music/dance floors/humans).

True to form, it's a global EP with artists from Mexico City, Sydney, Naples, and Hebden Bridge. First up, label favourite La Guardia De La Luz does what he does best, with en epic psychedelic disco mid-tempo chugger. Subtle rhythm guitar, bouncing bass and 80s pads set the scene for strings and stabs as they work their magic.

Next up, Uomo Meccanico takes the red eye for a late night hypnotic slice of electronic house music. Shimmering stabs, trippy pads and filtered vocal sample build into epic deepness. One for the floor as the light creeps in at 6am and everything starts going sideways.

Johnny Deep takes his electronic funk low and slow. Pops, glitches, and burbles provide some serious swing over a bottom end that rides the sub. Slow burning dance floor ignition guaranteed. 

Finally, Flash Atkins brings the soul with a track that is as loose and easy as a Mediterranean summer. Amy Collins sings of an early morning walk home after a loved up encounter on the dance floor as Dan Goldman lays the keys and grooves for some disco love.

Douglas Greed is known for his melancholic, organic, emo techno tracks. Surrounded by hills and forests, crossed by a river, far from the extravagances of Berlin and mostly inhabited by students, Jena is the artistic home of Douglas Greed’s music. 
His versatile DJ skills cover every mood in a heavy weekend of partying. His musical output covers a broad stylistic range while retaining its own clear fingerprint and often bypassing the conventions of purely functional club music.
Douglas Greed has also been spreading more bass-heavy vibes for many years in his live set-up with Fabian Kuss on vocals (who is also featured on ’Like Feathers’) and Michael Nagler on drums.

Astronauts please assemble. Rising Sicilian star-gazers Phunkadelica make their Correspondant debut with this beguiling trip to the stars. Three original cosmic crusades and two full-thrust remixes from Machinegewehr and Marcus Worgull, you best buckle up tight for this one.

Score-like in its orchestration, Italo right down to its deepest DNA; ‘Amore Automatico’ is the countdown, take-off and break away from the earth’s gravitational pull all in one. ‘L’Aria’ follows, settling us into the freefall of the universe by way of a contemplative electro strut and ‘O Superman’ style mournful vocoders. ’80 Voglia’ then proceeds to deftly navigate a torrential asteroid storm, moving between the space debris so lithely it seems like slow motion… Eight minutes later you’re on the other side of the galaxy with just two rocket-fuel remixes to get you back home.

Following up to the “sampler” series, this time Madorasindahouse delivers this 4-tracker by atsou. Handpicked selections by close friends and newcomers to the label, this EP showcases the deep and afro-inspired sounds that can make a dancefloor groove to the MIDH vibe.

First up, atsou’s collaboration with the Moroccan icon Amine K, features the vocals of the lively Lemonia Beza, winner of the “Voice of Greece 2018”, who revive an old greek track to “Felice”.

Clemente joins the Madorasindahouse Records roster, with “Here & Now”, an ode to summers gone and summers to come, dancing while the sun rises.

Filippos, the upcoming greek talent, follows up to his success with last year’s “Kairetu”, with his collaboration with the South african spoken-word artist Black Soda, and delivers the afro-tech stomper “Simera”, ready for the peak time moments of the future parties.

Last but definitely not least, is the legendary Myconian figure, resident of “Astra” and “Void”, Dj Pappa, on one of his rare production appearances. We definitely hope we get to listen more of the “Morning Star” vibes!
