Onur Özman returns to Sum Over Histories with Panopticon, a 4-track EP exploring the illusion of freedom in modern life. 

Drawing on the panopticon’s concept of unseen surveillance, the release blends deep, atmospheric sound design with a clear conceptual focus, moving from hidden confinement toward a sense of release. While on holiday at the beginning of last year, it dawned on me that although I’ve been playing in LA since the early ‘90’s, I’d never done an open to close set here. And over the years I’ve watched as my good friend Kobi Danann has transformed Sound Nightclub into THE definitive clubbing experience in the city; carefully studying the variety of DJs who come thru its doors and meticulously tweaking every aspect of the venue. So naturally at the end of that epic all nighter we decided to make it a yearly tradition.
